Default What are you using for a roller seat in the garage???

I bought one of these from HF and I'm less than impressed.

The bolts that go through the frame to the casters below barely have 1/4" of thread engagement. I've lost two casters in a year. Luckily I had spares from the last one I had.

Curious if anyone has something sturdier?

Thanks & Happy Fathers Day!!

Jeff, bought one similar to the link below from Amazon, currently having issues logging into Amazon to get exact details, but it was lower priced on Amazon than Northern Tool direct...……..

I bought a SnapOn chair with a back and it's very comfortable, detail most of the car sitting on that thing.

I just bought the adjustable height rolling stool from Harbor Freight. $20. Like it.

I bought the Tail Bone Rough Rider seat from Bone Creepers after having bought one of their mechanics creepers. Works great for me as I've got gravel that gets into my garage and pole barn where I work on my C6. It's dark out in the pole barn so I pulled a photo off a website.

I'm just using an old office chair that I bought in '76 or '77. I took the seat-back off.

Works great!

I bought a combo pack of a roller seat and a creeper from jets. Not too of the line, but works good.

I bought this cheap Harbor Freight adjustable height swivel stool and within a week started losing bearings out of the casters. I would be rolling around the garage floor and all of a sudden the entire unit would hang up and I'd look down to find 3 or 4 little ball bearings on the ground. I replaced all of the casters with these and now the chair functions great. It's been a useful tool now for almost three years.

I have a Z-Creeper that I bought from Price Club (before they became Costco). Works fine on a smooth surface.

Made my own after the seat snapped off. Screwed the bucket to the base, and the seat to the lid. The height is pretty good.

I've had this SnapOn chair almost twenty years. Just used it today to install my new Z06 shocks, I'll bet it won't be as sore as I will be tomorrow....

I use an old office chair too. Question, why did you take the back off? I like having something I can lean back in especially after doing a bit of wrenching.
