Cooling Fan Not Turning On
Looking for some assistance. My car started overheating while in traffic. I found that the cooling fan stopped turning on. I found the schematic, I checked for power and ground going to the module, and shot the wires to the fan. All checked good. And no obvious signs of melting at the connectors or in the wiring.
Then i bypassed the fan module by jumpering the power and ground going in and out. This kicked the fan on. So I replaced the module, but the fan still doesn’t turn on.
Any suggestions?

Melting Slicks
There are three related possibilities, all traced back to overheating for one reason or another.
(1) Failed fan motor. It can get overworked and die.
(2) Failed wiring. As the fan works harder, its power wires get hot. There's a connector that can melt too.
(3) Failed Fan Control Module. The FCM can get overheated and cook too.
I've had to replace all three. Not fun. The underlying cause was a build-up of mud, grass & small twigs, and bits of sand blocking the lower six inches or so of the radiator. It needs annual blow out and wash out from behind to keep the air path clear. Hard to do without a lift. Eventually the radiator must be replaced. Recommend a DeWitt's double-thick.

I had a melt at the connector, I jumped it from below and fan came on, found the issue in the connector and just hard wired it to bypass the connector.
