Default Hood liner decal

I ordered a hood liner decal and just received it. The colors look all wrong to me. I thought the left flag would be black/white checkered, and the right would be red/scarlet.

This came from a forum sponsor. So not from eBay. Are there different color variations for the c6?

It looks good to me. I’m not aware of different colors. If it’s a decal, maybe once the backing is removed you’ll see the true colors better?

There are plenty of variations. Customizers will do all sorts to the customers request.

Looks correct to me too. There is no white on the C6 badges. It is more of a silver.

Have your liner painted should last longer than the decal

When you say have it painted, did you do this or did you find someone to do it for you. With that, what did it cost and how did you go about finding someone to do it?

I had my hood liner airbrushed. I posted an add on Facebook asking friends and family if they know anyone with any airbrush skills. I had two replies and picked the guy I liked best. The going rate around here is $300 for something similar. If finding someone on Facebook didn't work I was going to try Craigslist. I discovered there are lot's of talented starving artists out there. Anyhoo... it's another option. If anyone in Utah wants one done hit me up and I'll give up the guy that did mine. Good luck :-)

Looks great. I was planning on doing just the flag but after seeing yours, may try and get something a bit more custom.

I did a lot of research before doing mine. I looked at the decals first and decided they were a poor choice. Some guys have great luck with them but at least half of those I talked with had issues, most the decal fell off after some time.

Next I was going to paint my own, lots of info on the web about doing this. After getting started I could tell I was not going to be happy with the end result because I'm not much of an artist, so I found a real artist :-)

The other option is the painted metal emblem that attaches to the hood liner. That option costs about $70 and is the option I would have used if not for the airbrush. For the looks, cost and ease of installation this option is a great choice.

Maybe my research can save you some time and money :-)

Looks good to me. I just painted mine with artist's brushes and paint I had in the basement.

I ordered it from RPI. For me, its too bronze/dark brown. Most show more of a red/ burgundy. I'll set it on the shelf or put in the for sale section.
thanks
