remove chrome 3m backed eyebrow on headlight lens
hey folks.. i recently bought a 2007 atomic orange callaway vette coupe. 36k miles. it has chrome eyebrows on the headlight lens. can anyone offer advice on how to remove these chrome eyebrows from the headlight lens covers on a c6? the lens are still clear. but, they have the chrome eyebrows on them. looks like some kind of adhesive backing on them. i would like to remove them if possible without damage to the lens cover. any input is appreciated.
thanks, phil

Melting Slicks
3 hours in the direct arizona sun, a hairdryer on high for 5 mins, or a heat gun on low for 2.5 mins should loosen up that adhesive and allow you to just pull them right up.

The heat will definitely help. If that isn't enough, then dental floss or fishing line to cut through, then clean up the residue!

The 3M Adhesive Remover will not harm the headlight lens. I've used it on mine before, anything else and you are on your own.

So you should be careful with it regardless of the effects on the lens. It can mess with paint if not cleaned up. Use some rubbing alcohol afterwards to clean off the residue that is left behind anywhere that it happens to touch just to be safe.

last month you replied to my post. thank you for the time. i can get the same adhesive remover. if i do it myself, i wonder about the steps. can you advise about the steps in the process? and, what did you used to put the cleaner on when you cleaned up the residue? brushes, rags, mild scrub pads? and, did you repolish the lens?
thank you for your help. i'll be glad to call if it's easier.
