Default Powder Coated My Calipers (Before & After pics)

Just wanted to shout out HUGE kudos to Dave at Renewed Finishes (dave@renewedfinishes.com). He just rebuilt my calipers and powder coated them in ZR1 caliper blue metallic. In addition, I had new PowerStop Z26 pads installed all around... I think these make our Carlisle Blue GS look over the top and ready for some major car shows. Let me know what you think.

$520 for rebuild & powder coating
$200 for silver paint below powder / then decal removal for silver to show through (this is what I wanted vs a decal over powder coating)
$250 for (28) new pins
$970 TOTAL

David also did my 12' Grand Sport Calipers

Orange Powder, Then Black Decal Then Clear Powder
My OE Slider Bolts were polished a bit by David and then
CLEAR Powder along with CrossOver Tubes

Ive seen new Slider Bolts on EBAY for much less
than $250 (I think)

My total was much less than yours including shipping both ways.

I bought ZINC Plated Rotors from BrakeMotive on EBAY

Hey, Chuck. Where did you get them done at and how much did it cost? I already grabbed a set of front and rear bolts off ebay (Raybestos Part#H15288 and Part#H15287) for less than $70 shipped. Feel free to send me a PM if you don't want to post the details here.

Yes sir - you gave me Dave's name (thank you again). The major cost difference is with black lettering you can use a decal over the powder...the clear doesn't change the color. With silver, it's a much lengthier process. He had to paint the caliper silver, then put on the decals, then powder coat the entire caliper then remove the decals for the silver to show through. Silver decals discolor after they are clear coated - that is why mine was more money. Lastly, I believe you reused your pins and he polished them - which also was a huge savings for you - I did not want any old components from my calipers.

The ones on Ebay looked dark / not shiny - so that was a deal killer for me. To me you get what you pay for (sometimes) and I didnt want to take any chances with beautiful looking calipers with dull / dirty looking pins.

Mayor111...………….. car looks great with the calipers

and as long as you are satisfied with results, and knew exactly what you were getting for the price you paid, that is all that should matter.....

VERY nice touch on going with silver paint under the blue rather than a decal. It's the little details like this that make the entire job look so much more professional.

Thanks. I've got a Motive kit with the master cylinder adapter that fits the vette. I used it when I took everything apart to remove the rust and paint my rotors and a fluid flush. It worked well. Do you have something better?

Default Finally got mine!

It's been on "the list" for a couple of years now... finally found the time (and $) to have my local Vette shop order powder coated OEM replacement in Red! (Core exchange...)
