Hi everyone, haven't posted for a long time but here goes - just noticed that the outside temp display not working seems to be frozen at one temp. any ideas?
Don't forget that there are some restrictions about when that display will be the same as the outside air temperature.
Read page 8-5 in the owner's manual:
There is also a sensor located
behind the front bumper. This
sensor reads the outside air
temperature and helps to maintain
the temperature inside the vehicle.
Any cover on the front of the vehicle
could give a false reading in the
temperature.
If the outside temperature goes up,
the displayed temperature will not
change until:
. The vehicle's speed is above
19 km/h (12 mph) for
five minutes.
. The vehicle's speed is above
52 km/h (32 mph) for two and
one‐half minutes.
These delays prevent false
readings. If the temperature goes
down, the outside temperature
will be shown when you start the
vehicle. If it has been turned off
for less than three hours, the
temperature will be recalled from the
previous vehicle operation.
Thank you guys. Strangely enough this morning it's back to normal but I have printed out your posts to keep in case I have it reoccur. BTW I also appreciate your knowledge as well as the always quick responses I've had on this forum - you all are the best!
You're welcome. I had 5 different C6s and for some strange reason, I have an electronic copy of all 9 C6 model years of owner's manuals. Sure makes looking things up a whole lot easier than trying to use printed manuals.
does the sensor by the radiator, which controls outside temp display, also control the interior dash lights? when my temp display isn't working I noticed there is a lengthy delay before the dash lites come on. Does this make sense and is it all related to the sensor / plug earlier mentioned? Or is that sensor only for an outside temp ?
