Looks great! Many are intimidated by removing the dash, but once you go for it, it isn't that difficult. If you want a real challenge, try removing the dash without removing the steering wheel.

Sorry for the delay! I have always liked the oem leather dash, especially the stitched “corvette” on the passenger side. Nothing was wrong with my original, I simply wanted to upgrade. I had previously replaced all areas that were included with the swap- steering wheel, center console, A pillars, glove box, both kick panels and instrument cluster, so I felt confident with doing the work myself. Ray Kawal has a write up on his website that explains the process step by step with pictures, and also answered my email about moving the bolt for the yaw sensor. Luckily for me, stangkilla from the forum was turning his Z06 into a track monster and was offering up his leather dash for $200. Having ran a big restaurant, I had an upholstery lady who did all of my booth and chair work who also did auto interior work who agreed to take the job of recovering the dash for a max price of $200. After bringing her the dash, she worked on it for about 4 weeks in between her regular jobs. She removed all of the old glue, what very little that there was, and used the 3m super adhesive, in the green can, to reapply. She secured the leather with upholstery staples underneath to secure the leather to the dash. Once dry, I used my wife’s $20 dress steamer to remove any remaining wrinkles and to tighten. The job took 3 hours to remove and about 1.5 to replace. All in all, I feel that it was $400 well spent!
PS- The dash vent grill basically crumbled in my hands while removing. Waiting now for my new one to arrive. That was another $46 online.

a new GM replacement was over 3K, and they are NOT available any longer
most repairs cost somewhere between 800 - 1000 depending upon how much the dash is peeled up, and how soft the leather still is to allow it to be stretched and re-glued back into place
there are numerous topics, pictures, and even videos out on removing the dash if you do decide to tackle the removal and re-installation process yourself................
best of luck in your decision
