1st Corvette for FNG
I am new to Corvette Forum. Iv read many C6 posts but this is my 2nd posting...
I am 63 y o and live bout 40 miles outside of Chitcago, IL.
I am Not having a mid-life crisis or any other crisis. Until yesterday Iv never even sat in a Corvette newer than a 1969.
1993 thru 2003 I built Vortech supercharged 347ci Fox Mustang that ran 10.90s at 129mph on 28x10.5 slicks. I do have some background in gofast.
Yesterday, after 2 months of looking I bought a base Corvette! A 2007, A6, LS2, Monterey Red, Black int. 3LT, Z51 with translucent and painted roofs. Has an Edelbrock E-Force w/tuner and Borla ATEK exh. Front of the radiator is what looks like a larger than standard bare aluminum heat exchanger. From pics Iv seen it appears Edelbrock ships a thin painted heat exchanger with their E-Force kits. I have not confirmed that.
The car has always been local. I have reciepts indicating the supercharger, new H-balancer, a pulley, belt, new Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires, Borla ATEK exh. new brake pads, 4 wheel alignment and an oil change were all done Feb. 2018 at 25854 miles at considerable expense. It also has a battery tender harness/connector at the fender vent. At 28757 mi. it got a new battery. Also incl. were all the stock parts except exhaust sys. and a new set of 4, 2007 Corvette GM service manuals.
The car is in excellent cond. now with 28821 miles.
When I drove it the 28 miles home it was clear & sunny at 18 degrees. It ran great! The A6 shifted perrr'fectly, steered & tracked straight. No squeeks although the spare top in the back made a little noise. Has no tears in the leather.
At 70mph the Borla ATEK wasnt bad at all. Under a load at 4 psi boost it loudly snapped to life .
At $27995 I probably paid too much.
It will be another 3 months before weather allows a cruise.
Thanks

Welcome to the C6 area of the forum! Congrats. on your great looking coupe.
As long as you are happy with it and all the added goodies included, doesn't matter what others may say about pricing.
Here's too many miles of smiles and enjoyment.

I think your price was about right, all things considered.
I'm sure someone will chime in that you can find 07's for $6k less, but those cars are turds.

Everyone loves to add their two bits about how you can find one for some ridiculous price. When I was looking, the lowered priced ones always had some body damage, especially cracked/spider web door edges, broken rockers, scraped bumpers and fenders etc., no service history and worn out seats. Maybe I'm just too picky but I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for. That looks like quite the fun toy you got yourself. I would love an Edlebrock in mine one day.

Huge step for a lifelong Ford guy.
Looks great, has all the right Go stuff and best of all?
You sound like a well qualified wrench, can do all your own work.
Doesn't get any better.
BTW I've been having a crisis of one kind or another well before mid-life.

Safety Car
If you’re tired of “Shitcago,” I own the lot adjacent to mine as well as across the street. Smallest one is 5.45 acres. Gates, security, the works. 5 hours from Chicago if you believe in speed limits.
