BTW ... A 9.5" wheel is too narrow for a 305/45 -17" tire.
I also have MT ET Street S/S drag radials in the 305/45 -17" size on the rear of my supercharged GS ... They are mounted on 17 x 11 wheels, which would be correct for that tire.

ive seen others on the forums with a 305 radial on a 9.5, I know it may seem like a bad idea but they have been working great and hopefully they stay that way - beautiful grand sport btw
edit - I’ve actually seen someone put a 325 on an 8 inch wide rim, that’s just not right imo, your not putting all the rubber to the ground at that point

I also have a 17 x 9.5 wheel on the front of my car ... but it has a 285/40 -17" tire mounted on it (which is the correct size tire for this 9.9" wide wheel.
I think he first needs to get the correct sized wheel for that size rear tire he is using ...
A 9.5" wide rear wheel is just too narrow for a 305/45 -17" drag radial ... simple fact
.
But but but, he said it's working great, and didn't start a thread about how his tire was rubbing. It's not like pinching the tire on too narrow a wheel is causing it it stick up further...
The OP has a problem with a tire rubbing somewhere in his wheel well ... but he also has a problem with too wide of a tire mounted on too narrow of a wheel.
All I was saying is a 9.5" wide wheel is not the correct size for a 305/45 -17" tire
I didn’t mean to come off in like a harsh way if I did. I was just wondering cause everyone says a 9.5 is too small which I know it’s pretty small for a 305 but it’s only 14 millimeters difference from a 10 inch, does it make that big of a difference?

Turbo6TA-the 9 1/2" rim is not too narrow for the MT 305/45x17.It is the narrowest wheel recommended by MT for that tire.It is the rim size I use for the 305/45 x 17 to run those 1.30"s 60ft's with.He already has the right width wheel for the car and needs to raise the jack bolts a little
Matte if you can't adjust the ride height with your jack bolts yourself take it to a shop and have them do it for you before you damage those tires. Its less than 1 hour labor to save those $700. tires
