Window Tint Issue
Forgive me if this has been asked before but on my moble ap it’s hard to search. The issue I’m having is a “scratching “ showing up on the door glass. Is this a isolated issue that I am having or is it something that’s a common problem??

Vertical single line about midway in the glass? I've had that happen on both my C6's. Not sure what causes it. Something inside the door rubs it just enough to mark the tint but not go all the way through. Only can see it in certain light.

Had it on my drivers door. The tint must have been done when the car was new (I'm the 3rd owner) and started to look old and foggy. So, I just recently had both doors re-tinted. I wanted the rear hatch done also but the tint shop couldn't and wouldn't do it. Thats because the tint was so old and melted on, he was afraid that the defrost would come off. I didn't want to go thru all the pain and cost. So, I decided to clean it up real good and just leave it alone. That's a cost I'll put in the piggy bank for the next Corvette.
When I decide to add something or mod it a little more, I weigh the difference and determine if I want it or put it in a reserve for the next one! Because you and I know there is going to be Another one!!!

I got high quality tint installed on my 08Z and had this problem show up within the first week, I can feel the scratch with my fingernail. Never noticed anything on the glass prior to having the windows tinted, whatever is causing the scratch seems to be enough to scratch tint but not glass

I have had tint on every car I have ever owned except my first one. I have an appointment to have it put on my Vette next week. Seeing this makes me second guess doing it. I wish someone knew what was causing it. I would take the panels off and fix it before having the tint put on.

I am considering doing this tinting also. If I read this correctly, the scratch(s) shows AFTER the tint is put on? Is this both windows or just drivers side?
I plan to put sound deadening inside my doors soon and if this is a know issue and fix I want to do this while my door panels are off before I get tinting done.
