Default Jim Mero MRC Upgrade

Hey all,
Mero blew into KC last night (12/19) and I was on his schedule. What a great guy.....easy going, friendly and obviously knowledgeable.

I don't track my car, I'm more of a drive it around some on "tour" setting guy. On the way to meet him, I purposely drove it on suburban surface streets to feel all the seams and bumps I could (for later comparison). The change takes less than 10-12 minutes and it's WELL worth it. I returned home via the same route and the difference is night and day.....just like Jim said it would be. In fact, I believe my new sport setting is more comfortable now than the old tour setting was before.

Because it was cold out, I didn't try any twisty/turnies, but the ride on surface streets is much better....soft yet firm. I didn't get on the hiway, but thery're generally smoother around here anyway. You will not be disappointed if you elect this change. If you can still get on his schedule, I'd suggest a Christmas present to yourself! This is a must have!!

I am also on the schedule for an upgrade in DFW for Monday evening. The weather forecast is promising and since I recently had low back surgery, should appreciate the difference in the ride quality on the return trip home.

You won't regret getting this upgrade. I had it done back in the fall and it is amazing how the car rides and handles differently. Kudos to Jim!

Jim stopped by my place in Ankeny (Des Moines area) and upgraded my ‘11 GS yesterday. The process was quick and easy and I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Jim. I went for a short drive afterwards on mostly smooth county roads so really couldn’t get a good ‘take’ on the change. It will be April before I can give it a proper test drive. But now I know it’s the best it can be and I’m good with that.

I had mine upgraded a few weeks ago when Jim was crossing through Pittsburgh, the difference is absolutely amazing. If he's heading through your area on his travels, I highly suggest to those considering his upgrade to just do it!

I did the upgrade this past summer. Sent my controller to him in exchange for his upgraded one. Install is very easy and he has a great video on his website if you need to go that route. The difference is amazing and the best mod I have done so far.

I just got mine today in Joplin MO! Initial impressions are great. The car now just soaks up the road imperfections. I pushed it through a few corners and I must say the car feels totally different. Well worth the small amount of money spent!

I installed the module on my '13 GS vert earlier this year and agree with everyone's positive assessments. Very satisfied & happy. Jim is a great guy and an asset to the Corvette community..

Just met with Jim and he upgraded the MRC in my 2012 GS. I've read on here that he's a great guy and very friendly. Now I know he's a great guy because he has a 2012 GS also. LOL The update went fine. Took about 10 minutes or so.

Some people have said that they cannot really tell the difference. On the 10-minute drive home, I could definitely tell a difference in Tour mode. We have some pretty lousy concrete streets here and the front and back shocks don't always feel like they are working together. In my brief time in the car, the damping seems to be much more refined.

I won't be able to give it a thorough flogging until the weekend. I hope anyway, as long as the temps here in North Texas cooperate. I can't wait to get it out for a proper shakedown.

My appointment is Wednesday. Today was awesome weather, so I took it out and just drove all over the place on various road surfaces, some more harsh than others, in tour mode to get a solid sense of how it rides now. I’m looking forward to the update because some of the roads near me are definitely bone jarring.

It’s great to hear the good experiences.

I posted my review in the ZR1/Z06 forum from my meeting with Jim this evening, and definitely recommend the upgrade.

I also wanted to add that Jim was able to adjust the schedule because he had me down earlier in the evening but I was flying home tonight from out of town. He had no problem meeting me a couple hours later once I was able to get home from the airport, grab the car and head over. First class all the way

Had the ZR1 done by Jim yesterday. Great guy, and a great service. I noticed a big difference on the way home on a two lane country road with a lot of patches, bumps, etc. Night and day better. On top of that, Sport is now usable even on bumpy roads.

Jim came to Houston 23 Dec and I had my "13 Zr1 upgraded to his "Super Sport" trim. I had a 40 mile drive home and noticed the difference immediately! I always have in in "Sport mode" and feel every bump and expansion joint in town and Hwy. After the upgrade, the ride was more "refined" but yet still firm and didn't get "jarred" all over the place! Dare I say smooth ride! It was time and money well spent! Kudos!
