2008 Corvette Z06 - Average Cost to Replace a..........
Dealer is charging me the following prices:
Upper Radiator Hose and all Fluids
Labor $224 Parts $133. Total $357
Starter and Heat Wrap
Labor $518 Parts $582. Total $1,100
Engine Oil Pan Gasket
Labor $1,107 Parts $151. Total $1,258
PS, they are also replacing all fluids (Brake, Clutch, Power Steering, Manual Trans & Differential) for a total cost of $606
Is this remotely within reason?
Is this due to COVID?

Either perform the repairs yourself or find a different shop.

Starter replacement is about right, and didn't have heater shield installed.
Upper hose, I had the bottom hose replaced, also about the same price.
Can't tell you the rest!

The upper hose replacement and starter seems reasonable for a dealership (I’m always shocked at their labor rates). The labor on the oil pan gasket replacement replacement seems like a lot to me. Fluids replacement seems high to me as well.

They call them ‘stealerships’ for a reason.

I have no problem paying premium rates if it’s a job that requires specialized tools/training, etc. and I’m getting premium service for my money. I just hate the idea of paying $150/hr to have someone change fluids that don’t require that level of training/equipment - and let’s be honest they’re not going to be putting their most experienced, top trained and paid guys to do those jobs.

"Corvette Tax" American Ferrari. Like "Cadillac Tax".. Corvette has no space to work with. Need special technicians with training to perform work. Takes more time when you have to remove one thing or a few things to get to problem part that needs replacement.
Dealerships mark up parts make $$$ through service and parts.

Those dealer quoted prices look about right to me...your only other alternative is to do the work yourself

The starter is no more than $150 and takes no more than an hour to change out if you have aftermarket headers. The heat shield can be bought for under $50. If on stock headers I can't answer to it but the $ saved is worth the time on that one.

Just remember all dealerships doesn't matter what you drive, uses the labor book, it's not something that flies off top of there head.
When I worked service at dealerships my tech's and any tech for that matter, have done so many repairs they know all the short cuts, there is do any job, and just because it takes them less then time that book recommends is how they make a living.
That's the way it's been done for years, and will keep being that way.
