Hood Struts

The metal clips on the end have to be pried outward with a small flat screwdriver, then they do pop off easily. The new ones just pop right in.

Do a search on YouTube. I found a video and literally had mine replaced in less than 10 min, and I was taking my time and being meticulously careful.

They were a little intimating to me, But once I tried one strut, I saw how easy they are, And if I can do it, anyone can. All you need is a small screwdriver, slip in back of the clip, pry it outward, and pop on the strut, once you push the clip back on the strut is locked in place. I put a small amount of dielectric grease on each one before I popped on the strut.
Good luck, piece of cake.

If you haven't bought them yet, try Amazon.

Easy breezy! It may help if you have someone holding the hood open while you remove the first one. Some struts get very weak and will not hold the hood open with only one strut attached while you change the opposite side.

Easy to install, they're pressure mounted, just pop them off and pop them back into place. The hard part is doing it solo while holding the hood upright to keep it from smashing your head. Get a friend to hold it and it's a 5 minute job tops. Don't be gentle with them, really give them a good yank and they pop right off. Same with installing the new ones. Press hard.

Simply snap them in, I replaced mine with Boxi brand front hood struts and Boxi trunk struts too. The pair of hood lift support struts were $22.59 and the rear trunk lift support struts were $20.39 for the pair. It took around 5 minutes to remove and replace all 4. There are cheaper struts but these seem better.

I used "Stabilus" brand. I forget how much they were, but they were not expensive. Like previous replies said use a broom stick or a helper to prop the hood while swapping the struts.

It is a very easy fix as everyone has said...I bought the chrome ones from Corvette Central for my hood and trunk. They were a little expensive but look great.
