napa gold oil filter
I drive a 2011 Grandsport and use a upf48r oil filter per a forum thread a few years back. I sort of remember in that thread there was mention of a napa gold wix filter with the same specs and burst pressure as the delco filter. Does anyone remember that #? Napa store says its a 7060, but its description doesn't mention burst pressure. I also read that delco has changed the specs on the upf48r and has cheapened the filter? Any additional info.

Everything I've read says that the Napa gold filter is highly rated. AC Delco is rated so so.
Burst pressure???
You ever hear of a filter bursting?

I use the XP or the NAPA Platinum they have a little spring inside rather than that punched piece of whatever it is made out of. I also have never heard of a filter bursting.

I use AC Delco oil filter, and never experience any problems with them, and change oil every year, always less than 7,000 miles.

Wix or Napa Gold are always top quality filters based on the results of people taking them apart and comparing components over the last several decades. Use them and you will never go wrong. Use something else and you will likely be OK too. But, what do you want in your car? It's like premium fuel. It isn't required except to reach fleet mpg goals but why have a performance car that operates at less than it should?

There have been reported cases of regular filters bursting on motors with dry sump if correct filter with higher burst rating not used. That is due to higher oil pressures in dry sump. UPF48R is the one specified for dry sump. Steel housing is thicker than just PF48 which is for wet sump motors.
