Default Fog light upgrade, Bulbs ???

Since I'm having Umnitza repair and change the headlights in my 2007 Headlight assembly, I thought this might be a excellent time to upgrade the foglamps, what do you folks suggest to do this with ? Strange the owners manual doesn't even list a bulb for this lamp ?

Thank You,

I put HIDs in mine in 2014 when I bought the car. I would find a well reviewed set of LEDs today.

We offer LED fogs, HID fogs, and pretty much any kind of LED/HID combo you might want on the lights. Since we're shipping you the lights probably tomorrow or Friday, feel free to email us what you want to get

You have to decide if you want fog lights, or you want useless lights that match your headlights.

If you want fog lights, buy some LED bulbs in a 3000k temperature, so theyre yellow and work in fog. This is way cheaper too, you shouldn't spend more than 20 or 30 bucks on this.

If you want useless lights that match your headlights, any of those housings or white LEDs will work. But I wouldn't do it personally, I would buy yellow Leds, and have the actually be useful.

Agreed!

We have our high-powered LED bulbs, projector Morimoto XB LED fog light assemblies, and even brabus-style accent fog lights.
An upgrade to fit any build!

Unless you’re regularly driving in fog, the yellow lights are a lot less useful than adding led bulbs into the fog light housing that provide substantially more light than the headlights alone. So they’re hardly useless.

I agree. The OEM halogen headlights in my 2015 F-150 were abysmal - less light output than the sealed beams in my 1985 Bronco II. I swapped to drop in LEDs which helped a lot. Tried yellow LED drop ins in the fogs and didn't care for them. Swapped to 6000k LEDs to assist the headlights and am much happier. I typically only run the fogs when it's rainy. I do, however, run the HID fogs on the Centennial all of the time. The Vette is so low to the ground that light output doesn't bother other drivers; I have never been flashed. I have occasionally been flashed in the F-150 when the fogs were on.

The fog lights don't provide any additional light anywhere you would need it though. They aim maybe 3 feet in front of the car. That's basically hidden by the hood on the C6. You're not getting any useful light out of them.

Maybe on a total retrofit, you'd get a few extra lumens 5 feet out, but if you need light down the road, that's what headlights are for. I

That's if you leave them aimed for fog lights. Because they are so low to the road it doesn't take much of an adjustment to move them where they will throw light quite a bit further down the road.

Correct, mine are adjusted and do provide additional lighting which is beneficial especially on rural roads.

That also means to get the light further up, you risk causing glare to oncoming drivers. And like you said, it doesn't take much adjustment to have them high up enough to be where your headlights are, except then they're pointed up and causing glare.

Fog lights are not the right tool for the job for putting light down the road, that is not what they're designed for.

Well I am thinking to just go with a brighter set of Bulbs, LEDs and it's not like I have any hesitation on spending, I think I need a twelve step program at this point, but a better set of bulbs should do the trick. I'm expecting delivery of my rebuild headlight assemblies real soon !

Thank you all,

Thank you all,
Those will work also, it just depends on the look you're going for. If you do go with LED bulbs, I recommend these ones. https://www.vette-lights.com/collect...ghter-than-hid

Just moments ago I noticed this same thing. 2012 GS owner's manual pdf does not give a part number the fog lamp bulb. Odd oversight.
