Z51 Option
If you look at the Corvette Blackbook it says under the 2007 model year that the Z51 option comes with HD springs, shocks, stabilizer, large cross drilled rotors, engine oil, trans and steering coolers. I don't believe the A6 equipped cars had all the coolers mentioned did they?

IIRC only the M6 has the trans cooler. I don't believe the A6 Z51 cars came with that.

My 2007 Z51 has the engine oil and steering coolers; no trans cooler.

I think all A6 cars have a trans cooler, but it's built into the radiator, not separate. I think the Z51 M6 cars also have a trans cooler built into the radiator. And the LS2 Z51 cars have the oil cooler built into the rad also

you’re half right. All A6 Z51’s and base have transmission coolers in the radiator but not all A6 Z51’s have engine oil coolers. 06 like mine didn’t come with any oil cooler. I added one on my Dewitts rad. I believe the 05 cars didn’t either but can’t recall, it’s been years since I addressed the issue.

Not sure why you're asking the question, but the A6s can be retrofitted with the Z51 external engine oil cooler. It all bolts up using factory parts and if you swap out the shroud for the correct one no modifications are needed to anything. Makes quite a difference in oil temps.

Simply said, they are incorrect. There is a heat exchanger built into the rad which is immersed in the coolant and lines which carry fluid to and from the tranny that connect to the heat exchanger. The A6 or A4 wouldn't last long without it. This is the way most automatics are cooled regardless of car manufacturer. Maybe they are thinking of external transmission coolers like the ones B&M make, but AFAIK there was no factory option for an external tranny cooler.

Do each of these coolers have a specific RPO code that would be listed in the glove box to confirm what the vehicle was fitted with?

Automatic transmission coolers are nothing new; every V8 / auto trans vehicle I have ever owned, used a heat exchanger in the radiator to cool the tranny fluid.
To verify...look at the side tank on your radiator, (pass side) and you will see two metal tubes (one high, one low) that circulate transmission fluid through the heat exchanger.
As I said this is very common. What is unusual, is using a cooler like this for manual transmissions; manual trannys typically do not have a pump to circulate the oil.
So, since all auto vettes have a transmission cooler, and it is not specific to the Z51 pkg, it is not broken out in the list of Z51 equipment.
