Beautiful car. Just need black rims now...

Congrats and enjoy that beautiful beast. My 08 has been almost flawless. Just make sure that the battery is in good shape or it will cause all sorts of issues.

Congrats, welcome to the club and the forum. Time to start doing some mods and personalizing that puppy, the first place to start that I'd recommend is the sound system, if it still has the stock stereo in it, if so I suggest pulling it out and get a good aftermarket head unit to take it's place, not only will you have up-to-date functionality, but you have a better sounding system. That was the very first thing I did to mine when I got it, and was one of the best things I've done to it

Definitely on my list. After driving it for several hours yesterday, I again realized why I haven't listened to FM radio in more than 10 years. I also want to be able to add front and back cameras. Finding the right head unit will be high on my priorities list.

Congratulations on your purchase! I love my 2009 Base C6! One word of caution, check out the infamous shifter grommet issue with the previous owner! If not fixed, get it fixed before you get stuck somewhere like I did!
other than that….DRIVE IT & ENJOY

Thank you. I've heard of issues with the C5 in this area - in fact a friend with C5 just went through it - but not the C6. Can you point me to any information on this for the C6?

Search YouTube for C6 shifter grommet replacement. It’s a great source!

Enjoy the car. And yes....even my trusty 2008 got hit with the auto shifter issue. At about 18,000 miles and after 11 years of ownership (from new). It first started (for me at least) as a reluctance to come out of park. After a while, it just refused to go back into park or reverse. Took it to the dealer and they fixed it, unfortunately, for the better part of $1,000. There are threads on here that show some do it yourself workarounds but I didn't want to mess with that or eliminate any of the security/safety functions of the shifter. Headlight recall was done years ago. Not sure that the 2007 is included, but there is also an issue that can pop up with the gas tank connections; you only notice it if you smell gas when parked as I recall . GM sent out a letter a few years ago advising owners that you didn't have to bring in the car unless you did smell gas and keep the letter in the event your car did develop the problem. Mine has been fine. Overall, a tremendous car that's so good that it keeps me from getting C8 fever. Enjoy.

Mkel2020, don’t get scared about shifter issues! I fixed my grommet problems front and rear myself for $18 with parts from Amazon😍
