HVAC issue blowing hot and cold at same time
2013 grandsport, tried to put on ac for the first time this year, dual zones are on “60” on both sides. Passenger side is blowing ice cold, driver side blowing hot as can be.
anyone have any ideas on an issue?

I've had this issue on my last two Corvettes. On my C5, it was the passenger side blend door that necessitated my having to remove the dash and replace the actuator. On the C6 I recently bought it was just a matter of adding freon.

Quite interesting issue - I'm curious as to maybe the head unit has some effect, as I had it replaced in one C5 ((electronic problem) although in this case unit was not displaying anything).

freon seems fine ( ran it for an hour with ice cold/hot half and half). Display on the unit has been fine with no issues.

any idea how to do that?
This is an OLD issue on here, but I can't find the original threads on it. I envision having to take the dashboard apart down to the firewall with intake manifold removal to get to the screws holding in the box with all the functions in it. Drain coolant. discharge AC. I'm hoping for a miracle cure on here from someone who's done it.

If you're asking how to initialize the blend door actuators, just disconnect the positive battery terminal for about an hour, then put in the run mode. You should hear the actuators reset.

so I guess an engineering degree in thermodynamics did not prepare me for the easy path. All I did was charge the thing and now both sides are ice cold. I can only think that GM put in some sort of routine that when it gets low on freon, it does not set a code, but the driver's blend door goes hot. no idea how else the same evaporator can blow 2 different temperatures.

I had the same issue yesterday. My drivers side air got warm and passenger side was cool but not cold. Started it today both sides are hot. Son checked freon it's fine. So is it the compressor most likely? How much for part and labor ? Is it more on ZR1? Blower in the way? Thanks.
