Driving from Dallas to the Corvette Museum
Will be driving the Callaway from the Dallas, TX area to/from the Corvette Museum in a couple weeks. I drove my new BMW from Knoxville back to Dallas last Summer and remember the interstate being in horrible condition.
Anyone driven it recently? Any interesting stopping points or places to avoid?

Backroads route
Went to the Bash from Dallas a few weeks ago. Route taken was Dallas to Downstream Casino in Quapaw OK. Then to Drury Plaza Hotel in Cape Girardeau MO. Then on to Bowling Green.
Returned via back roads to spend the night in Memphis TN (check out Beale Street for entertainment). Then interstate on home.
Have fun!

Jabcat,
How many days do you have planned for the trip? Are you trying to stop, and sight see along the way, or trying to get from Dallas to Bowling Green as quickly as possible?
In 2019 I drove from Dallas to the Corvette Museum, then up to Carlie, PA for the Corvette at Carlsie car show.
I left Dallas at midnight and was in Memphis by 9am. As you said the roads sucks *** w/ low profile tires. I've been through Little Rock many times before so I didn't stop to sight see. But there's cool stuff to check out if you haven't been before.
In Memphis I took some photos in front of the bridge over the Mississippi River and Pryamid. I worked in the Memphis area before, and I've been to Graceland, Beale Street, The Peacock Hotel, etc. so I didn't stay long.
I then hauled *** and made it to the Museum by 2:00 pm.
I went around Nashville. I wish I wasn't on such a tight schedule and had time to check out stuff in Nashville. I would check out the Mammoth Cave National Park.

City looked like a typical Democrat run, hell hole.

PPffttt! Compare to 13,000+ in Dallas last year. Just use your head and listen to your instincts (stay out of sketchy areas). Interestingly, nearly 45% of Memphis auto thefts were Hyundais and Kias...easy to steal! Also, there were plenty of police officers on Beale Street...we felt perfectly safe.

I've been to Nashville a couple times, been around Little Rock. Never stopped in Memphis. Just wondering if there is anything worth stopping for along the way.

Get the ROADTRIPPER app. https://roadtrippers.com Wife and I have been on 3 road trips in the last 3 years from 2500 mi to 8000 mi and that app gave us more ideas about things you never knew existed. It really made the trips a lot of fun, especially if you aren't really pressed for time you can explore.

Ideally, as quickly as possible. My wife scheduled the "NCM Experience" for me for Father's Day where they detail your car & put it on display in the museum plus a plant tour & guided museum tour. I'm driving up on a Thursday, museum gets the car Friday, and we'll probably drive back Saturday.

Post up here once your car is viewable on the cams.

Lived close to and worked in Memphis for 20 years. Never spent time on Beale or been to Graceland...never a desire to. Grew up around and worked in Little Rock..nothing to see there really either. Going through both on a road trip np. I'd suggest you get gas before or after those places. You should have an awesome trip..bet you'll have a blast!!!

Coming back from NCM Caravan, I drove the Natchez Parkway through Tupelo and to Jackson where I picked up I20 to Dallas. Beautiful drive with quite a few twists and turns. It may not be the Dragon but fun anyway.

Wife wants to visit Graceland, so we're going to make a stop in Memphis on the way back. We live north of Dallas, so heading south to Jackson then West on 20 is a bit out of the way. We'll see how my son & I do with 22 hours in the Z. The longest I've driven it continuously is 4 hours.

Also don’t listen to these weirdos who perpetuate Fox News myths of cities. This is a wonderful country, and you should explore every bit of it.
I would advise trying to get off the interstate, going through towns really let’s you see America. The interstate just drones on and on.
I still need to do a run up to Mt Washington. One of my favorite roads was through West Virginia. Absolutely gorgeous.

this summer alone I’ve done about 2K miles in road-trips. 1600 round trip NYC-KY and NYC-DE beach. My 13yo came along, we had a blast. Most comfortable? Not by a long shot. Is something going to break? Likely.
