I have NPP. With the mild to wild switch
today I noticed I could click the switch, they
would close and it would go quite for about 5
seconds then the valves would open and go back
to being loud again.
I suspect the issue is in the valve actuator/diaphragms
- what say you?
I’d say the first thing to do is unplug the fuse tap and replace the fuse you removed and see if normal operation resumes. If it does, then somehow there’s an issue with the M2W control box. If replacing the fuse doesn’t change anything, I’d say the vacuum solenoid is starting to fail and gets weaker as it heats up, so that it can’t maintain its closed position. That problem has been reported a few times.
I had one of the actuators on the mufflers them selves fail. It caused a similar problem because it can cause a vacuum leak. When the vacuum is first sent to the actuators they close and as the vacuum is lost they reopen.I trouble shot this by unpluging and capping one vacuum line at the actuators at a time. When I unplugged and capped the left side the right side work as it should. I was able to find a used actuator on line and that solved the problem. Good Luck
