Default C6 wheels part number

New member to the forum but have visited and read the advice on many occasions. Hope to be able to contribute, but I have a question today.

I am looking for a used set of the 2008-2010 "Gumby" forged wheels to replace my 2006 cast wheels.

Does anyone have a part number for these wheels and any other markings that I can use to confirm the correct wheels ?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Welcome to the forum BracerR. I am relatively new myself. The guys on here are great and loaded with information. The wheel markings you can look for are SUPERALLOY and it will say TAIWAN, have the date stamped and also have the GM logo with part number. As far as the part numbers go, I know it will start with a 959.... with 4 additional numbers following that are different front to rear, such as GM 9597876 (18x8.5) and GM 9597877 (19x10) which are chrome, but I have also seen 9597340 and 9597341 which I believe is the polished aluminum version. Someone please check my homework. The RPO for the chrome set is Q9V and the polished version is QG7. I have seen them for sale on Ebay and even on this forum. When it comes to Ebay and other places that are not this forum, be careful because I have seen people take the polished version and have them chromed and of course charge more. The wheels are still the OEM GM wheels but they started life as polished aluminum. Good luck with your search, I hope you find your wheels.

Also know that the Q9V forged chrome wheels were first available on '09 model years, while the QG7 polished ones were introduced for the '08 models. I've seen Q9V's in good condition go for around $800 locally.
Good luck with your search.

Wow .... ask and you shall receive !!! Thanks for the great info on the "Gumby" wheels. I know exactly what to look for now .... SUPERAALOY stamping, made in TAIWAN, the GM Part Number and now the option codes for the specific year.

You guys are the greatest and this forum is AWESOME !

Thanks

If you haven't already, call Bob at House of Wheels in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He sells OEM wheels and is a Forum vendor.

Are the "superalloy" wheels forged or cast?

Good advice above. If you haven't figured it out, there's a search for keyword, Gumby returns several results and there appears to be several threads with some still being for sale unless the thread starter never went back and closed them or said sold.

The other thing that might help is if you update your profile to show where you're located. When I clicked on your profile it says CA which is Canada. At first I was thinking it was for California.

There's also a regional section and sometimes people will post stuff for sale in that section due to not wanting to ship long distance and hoping to find a local buyer.

Best of luck,
Jason

I've seen his listings and he has some good stuff but the wheels locally are only $400 for the set.
