What is the finish called on these wheels?
I saw these at a local car show and the owner was not there for me to ask. They are like chrome, but not a bright shiny chrome. They have a dark color mixed in. They appear as different shades as you change viewing angle. I looked on the Variant web page, but none of the pictures look like what I saw. I can't figure it out. Do other companies have something similar?

Get ready to fork over some bucks as the comapnies that offer multiple finsihes on wheels typically charge a premium. These will be more ininline with a custom wheel versus a mass produced wheel ioffered in a few different finishes. I do like the black chrome look.

I contacted Wheel Craft. I couldn't find any prices on their webpage. You have to fill out information for a quote. It's $1200 to get a set refinished.
I have this set of wheels.
Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger. The ones I saw at the car show were gorgeous. I'm not sure they would be the same shade as what I saw. Gotta keep investigating this.

@DrKrieger Those look great.
From what I can tell the reflections around make a big difference in the way they look. These pictures look closer to chrome, I think because the road is lighter. The car show I was at, they were on a darker blacktop parking lot and looks darker. Is that what other people have seen?
If anyone has the stock wheel that I have finished in Black Chrome, I would love to see a picture.

Here's a thread with some black chrome Spyder wheels:

That said, I'm not sure any OEM wheels came in black chrome. I think they were an aftermarket replica but I wasn't around back then and am only going off information I've learned in the past couple of years. My dad's C7 has aftermarket black chrome wheels and they do look darker than Dr.Krieger's version of black chrome.

@C6_Prodigy Thanks for that thread link. It really shows the different colors with different light. That was what I saw at the car show and it was awesome. Now to decide what wheels to get. I know I want that finish, but what wheels to put it on?
@SSWEET Very nice! did you get the stock ones refinished or are those aftermarket wheels?
