J55 Blank Rotor Options
I recently bought an '08 and all the factory rotors have a horrible lip on them and they are just barely above the minimum thickness requirement. I've never been a fan of drilled rotors and have heard the stock ones have a history of cracking. I don't want anything fancy because I plan to get a big break kit for front and rear after I get new wheels.
What options exist for affordable blank rotors or slotted rotors? I see powerstop has some cheap autospecialty rotors but I have never bought anything from powerstop and don't know anything about them. Slotted rotors would be fine but there is a big price difference between those and these $60 powerstops.

Well, you plan to go to a big break kit.
I never heard of a prevalent cracking issue with OEM rotors.
Slotted may help with cooling.
I have no knowledge of Powerstop brand.
Rockauto.com may have a large selection.
With that said, if price is similar, I'd repurchase OEM/ GM and call it a day, until your big brake modification.
Good luck with your decision.

When it’s time to replace mine I’ll definitely get ones that don’t rust!

If you want cheap / temporary, Amazon currently has full set (F & R rotors and pads) in their warehouse deals. R1 Concepts Performance drilled / slotted $270 set for $111 for open box,
Should be J55 since shows to fit Caddy XLR and i think they were only HD brakes.

I may have been unclear. I'm asking for smooth rotor options. No cross drilled holes. I know they increase surface area for cooling but they are just a failure point I don't want to deal with.

My bad. I read it as you wanted something for a short time that you would toss after installing Big Brakes. My factory J55 drilled rotors have lasted 17 years and 110k miles and have no cracking. $700 seems about right for temporary brake pads and rotors.

Yeah, just some cheapos to get me through until the apex Enduro line wheels start shipping. I'm going to go to CO6 size rotors but they will not clear the stock wheels without spacers. I need to get the car inspected this month and the rotors are below the minimum thickness so this is just a Band-Aid for the time being. The power stop ones are quite cheap and not coated.

TRQ Rotors and brake pads kit
I did the TRQ rotors and brake pads. They do a great job in a street application. No problems what-so-ever, and no brake dust! They were around $350 all 4 cross drilled and slotted rotors and included pads.....I know they have gone up in price (just like everything else!!) , but not sure how much.

If you seek a "Low Price Blank" rotor and pad kit before your brake upgrade, CLICK HERE.....$171.74 with FREE shipping. But even though your rotors have an outer rim now, I would be tempted to throw on some pads and call it done. Just drive easy for a few tanks of gas to allow your new pads to conform to your imperfect rotors. I am assuming you are commuting with your Corvette. If performance driving often, I would surely replace everything.

Are the vents/vanes of the black hats straight or curved where the rotors are left/right specific? From what I've read the OEM ones are two lefthand rotors on the front and two righthand rotors on the rear.

They are drilled with no slots. They are like oem and what you described above.

Sorry did not understand your question. The vanes are slanted but only mount correctly on one side.
In my case the right side vanes spin the right direction but the left side is backwards.
