So, recently I noticed I haven’t been able to
open my doors or trunk without hitting the unlock button first on my key fob. Did I accidentally turn off that function to unlock the doors when walking up to the car?

I have experienced this particular situation with my car as well. Problem turned out to be that fob battery was going bad. Try to replace with a new battery and use a DVOM to measure the voltage, should read 3.3v or higher. Pay attention to the old battery orientation before you remove it so it doesn't go back upside down. Clean the contacts and be sure they are making good contact with the battery before you put the fob back together.

Update: I replaced the battery in both of my fobs and that fixed the problem with the doors and getting into the trunk….
