Default Rough ride?

My 2009 Z51 seems to have a rougher ride since coming out of storage.
What's the best solution for this? new shocks or shocks with coil overs?
Just wanting a less bumpy ride.

Our 2006 Z51 on Goodyear runflats honestly didn't ride that harshly, although I came from a 2003 Z06 going into that car, so my perception might be skewed. The C5 Z06 didn't come from the factory with runflats, just an air pump and plug kit. Are you on runflats? My 2008 Z06 with runflats, DRM Bilstein shocks and urethane bushings throughout the suspension and driveline resulted in superior handling, but the ride quality suffered greatly. I loved the magnetic ride suspension on my ZR1, and I just put the same Michelin Pilot Super Sport runflats on my Grand Sport (also with mag ride) and the ride quality in touring is significantly better than that Z06 I had with these same tires.

Naturally, you can't retrofit a magnetic ride suspension. So the only short-term solution I can think of is to ditch the runflats if you need a softer ride.

How old are the tires? What are they? The best and cheapest fix is the tires.

The tires are 5 year old Toyo Proxes Sport non run flat.

Was hoping to keep them for a bit more.

You are getting older. Only one solution to that and you don't want it/

I'd put some miles on them and see if it helps soften them up any. I wouldn't expect a miracle, but maybe it'll help a little.

Outside of that, barring obvious signs of component failure (like shocks), you're likely either noticing the age of the tires, or you're just used to a non sports car ride over the past few months.

From my perspective a sports car is not gonna ride a luxury car. If it does it is not a sports car.

Going from the stock goodyear to pilot super sports was night and day.

Tires are by far the most important part for ride/traction (obviously) Storage and sun are hell on them. Could be getting hard, or you might have just forgotten ><

Tires are still in great shape and I dont they have hardened over the years, it's possible the roads are still too cold to warm up the tires as driving in the summer. Maybe I'll play around with the psi as well.

I had the Pilot Super Sports on both of my previous Corvettes, and I forgot how amazing they were until I put them on my Grand Sport over the weekend. I've been riding on the Hankooks that came with it from the previous owner for the last couple of years. They're pricey, but worth every penny, IMHO.
