I have ‘10 GS with the BOSE system. There is no AUX port to input music from my phone. I’d like to keep it looking ‘factory’ so would consider replacing the current head unit with one from a newer year. Does anyone know if the head unit from an ‘11-‘13 will plug into my ‘10?
My 2012 has a port inside the center arm rest compartment which I thought was for that purpose. Never tried it since I switched out the HU as soon as I got the car. Not sure about a 2010
Will later years of the nav unit head (‘11 - ‘13) plug into the ‘10 and are they bt compatible or at least have an aux port?
They will plug in. The Blue Tooth is really limited. It basically just lets you use the phone hands free. You can't play music and of course Android Auto or any other apps don't work. It doesn't even use the phones contact list. They do have the USB port and AUX port.
I have a 2013 which had the Bluetooth and AUX ports but it proved to be outdated when trying to play music so I swapped it out with a Kenwood unit. Now I have streaming Pandora and can run WAZE, with hands free phone and can take phone calls and the audio comes through the car speakers. The OEM unit is so outdated, it's not worth the effort to try and do anything with it besides replace it.
I flashed my Kenwood so it displays C6 Flag and Grand Sport under it.
i saved my oem nav if i sell and someone for some reason wants to go back to stock, did same with all the speakers. Probably take 3 hours tops to re stock system.
