Default GM Styling Theme?

http://www.cardesignnews.com/news/20...ing/index.html

Take a look at the Vauxhall Lightning, espically the side view. Very, very short rear overhang with curves over the front and rear wheels and a huge side vent. That's a really short rear overhang.

That seems to be a styling theme that keeps showing up on the GM performance cars, from the Chevy SS to now the Vauxhall.

I don't know how much the styling theme is a corporate thing but even the way the fenders have a bit of an edge to them and slant inward seems to be constant accross the various cars.

More clues to the basic C-6 styling?

After viewing the C6 photos of the black beta leaving that hotel in NM.....then looking at these photos......I see many similarities that I like between the two cars.......do you think maybe the designers of this car spent some time with and got some influence from the C6 team.......and maybe we're seeing some C6 here! Interesting.

That car is just plain, outright UGLY. I hope the C6 takes nothing from that.

Sheesh  It's a concept car! Everything is exagerated. The point, and I believe it's a good one, is that the current photoshop renderings of the C6 may have the rear end extended 4 to 6 inches further than what the C6's may be.

There is support in the literature for this as well. We continually hear of a longer wheelbase, but a shorter car length. So, where do these inches come from? Probably both the front and the back, but many of the photoshop renderings have the back extended close to the length of the cammo. What if the cammo has been extended 6 inches? I, for one, think this is probable.

"The VX Lightning is based on the same platform used for the Pontiac Solstice concept that was shown at the 2002 North American International Auto Show in Detroit."

This is the latest derivation of that small concept - Saturn and buick also have a version. These designs are aimed at the younger, less affluent demographic, not at most of us here on this forum. Do most of us here like, or even care about the Focus? I doubt it ... and I doubt that any of this Lightening will strike the C6.
