Well, I guess I won't be experiencing any Close Encounters tonight!

I guess I can take my tinfoil hat off now...

Default Name That Car

Scott, It will only light up after you have named your car. Heck I don't know, now I'll have to go open the hood and look

In all seriousness, check to see if it is plugged in. If it has been serviced lately, some technicians unplug the light.

Just remember, there are no "dumb" questions, only dumb answers. Okay, yours comes awfully damn close.....

yes, I'm thinking that if it is the light you are referring to, it should light up as some point in time. Kind of like those round "things" on the front of your car.

Sounds like you need to see about getting it fixed.

Sorry, it's early on a Monday and some of us just need a little humor!

Check it under dark conditions at night. It is controlled by the BCM, and on some vehicles, the BCM will not turn on a light unless it is dark. On my old GP, the underhood lamp only worked with the headlamps on.

i just opened my hood - sunny day, but in carport shade - the light came on and is brightly lit even with the ambient light - try yours in a garage or at night - if no light ,then get it fixed - but it is your hood lamp for sure

How do you steer with him looking at you all the time and if you poke him in the stomach does he laugh or does your horn blow?

Now there's a great customization idea... Replace the standard horn with a digitized sound byte of the Doughboy saying "Hee Hee!!"

Default Try this

If you shut your garage door and push the dough-boy's belly, the hood lamp will illuminate. If it doesn't just stay on the horn until it does.

Mine works whenever the hood opens (or ailens are near) and turns off in 15-20 minutes (or after the aliens have abducted my cat).
