I am 49 and have had my '69 since I was 20 (1976). I got my '61 when I was 23. I haven't got much hair, but have had thin hair since I was born, and I weigh 188 pounds-I know, too much for a 5'6" man.......

I never bought a new Corvette since, until now, there has not been a new Corvette convertible approaching the style and performance (IMO only, power and handling) of my '69 convertible.

Had my first vette at age 19, this being #16, a 2002 Zo6. Love these cars and by the way GT Ford is an old style brought back. See a lot of young people driving these cars. Those that aren't , just have different prioritys.

You know some people are balding in their 20's, and viagra is very popular with college kids. Go figure.

Sounds like you have been talking to the wrong people. There are many idiots in the world.

Driving vettes since I could reasonably afford them in my late 20's and now 41.

Default Old people and vettes

Why would you care about what some young air head female thinks about men and corvettes? Most women are threatend by them and the male driving the car. Movies, tv probably created this problem.

I am 58 and my signicant other loves to drive the 02 Z06. I love to see her grin when she takes it into a turn in 3rd gear and pounce on it. She is a medical practice office manager and is bored to death during the work week. The Z06 gives her a sense of freedom from the day to day life of her routine. I love sharing the thrill with her. We can't go scuba diving in the Keys every weekend, which we have done, but we can turn the key on and breath fresh air.

Some people jump out of airplanes, join country clubs, go scuba diving, etc. Some people own and drive corvettes for the thrill they missed in life in flying an f16 falcon like me, USAF 1966-1970.

It is the great American car that the Germans, French, Italians can't share with their common people.

Say thanks to GM for giving me this car, a thrill 99% of the people on this earth don't get the chance to experience.

No matte what year vette you drive, you are in the cockpit of its era.

The guy that says it's for over 55 and balding, is probably jealous and owns a WRX or a Porsche Boxter.

My first vette: '64 at 19
second was a 69 at 21
third was a brand new 84 at 34
fourth was a 92 at 42
fifth was a 00 at 50
and I'm in line for a C6Z at 55

BTW the C5 was a poll winner as the most popular car in many teen magazines. So the notion that it's not for young people is fabricated by those who don't own them but wish they did. The C6 just won the same award for overall best on that tv show on spike tv. I forget what it was called. But it beat out the Porsche, Lambo, F430 and several other high profile cars which was judged by young people.

Old? Bald?....Yup, that's me. Of course I've owned my cars for 40 years or so, and I wasn't old (or bald) when I bought them. By the way, have you checked the PRICE of a Corvette lately"? Maybe you have to get OLD before you can AFFORD one;-)

I'm almost 60. 55 when I got my first and only Vette, a little overweight, bald, just on top , not yet on Depends. But, when that time comes I'll just put a clear plastic sheet over the seat, incase of leakage, and just keep on .

Since this seems to be a concern to you, I would suggest that you get yourself a WRX, Honda Civic, Hyundai, or something along those lines. I don't think you'll see very many people like me driving them, therefore, you should be happy with them.

im 18 have long luxurious hippy hair down to my sholders and a little bit more of a belly then me(or my girlfriend) would like, and have been driving my vette since I was 15 with my permit...............ok ok so I dont OWN the '75, its my dads and hes 50. but I drive it more than him and someday (later hopefully than sooner) I will own the vette after my dad is gone. If I could afford a New Corvette or well any corvette of my own I would but im in college and need to eat so these things must wait.

I think you should stop worrying about what others who drive similar cars look like and worry about how YOU look in the car. That is if you really care. I try to drive so that I just look like a silver Blurrr to everyone else.

32 got it three years ago. Daily driver 30,000 miles. It was the fastest and best performing new car that I could afford, which is why I chose it over a Boxster or an M3.

Also I have hair under the hat.

I got mine when I was 24.
Now 29 (mods in the sig )
I also don’t give a damn about heritage (who cares what happened 50 years ago ), also I don’t care who makes it….. GM, Ford, Toyota…f**cking General Electric…. As long as it has a big motor with lots of power, light weight, killer handling, plenty of gadgets and hot looks I’m interested

As far the girls – the VETTE does get ‘em WET, trust me

However,
I think the stereotype is correct
Problem is vast majority of the typical Vette buyers don’t post here, nor do they care about this or similar forum.

I do blame (partialy) old farts for the way C6 looks like today
(no offence to present company )

I will be graduating soon from Cal Poly as a Civil Engineer, and I've been greatly blessed with a job as soon as I get out with an assured 55k+ salary starting out. (I realize it's not a ton of money but it's a lot to me). The C6 ZO6 will be my first car purchase I plan on waiting a year or two which will put me at about 23-24. I realize I shouldn't count my eggs before I hatch but work for Civils is booming in Bakersfield, CA especially for water related work.

I've picked this car so that I can best any car in town, not because it'll attract attention from girls I'll try to do that the best i can on my own

Ignore them, they are envious of you, (but will never admit it).

Envious because they:

Cant afford one

Wife wont let them have one

Drive minivans because a Vette wont haul the kids and dogs.

Cars are just transportation, they don’t have the passion.

They get more excited about the 30 mpg their econo box gets and have no clue what G-Force is.

And so on…..

You do know that not all BIKERS are hoods and criminals dont you

I'm 24 and have had mine since I was 21. At the end of the day, there is not another car made for less than 70K that can match the Corvette for overall performance and features.

In 1968, when I was 18... I bought a 1964 Corvette Coupe for $1,400.00. In the last 37 years I've never been without a Vette. I still have my favorites... a body off restored 63' Split Window Coupe with factory AC and a 66' 427/450 Coupe and daily drive a 05' C6 Coupe. Looking forward to parking a 06' 427 Z06 next to my 66' 427 Coupe!!

Bought my first vette (95 C4) at 31 years old. Traded it in for a 98 M3 and lost 50% of MSRP. Driving a V12 850 now. At 41 decided to go back to the vette ... #5 on dealer list for the 06 Z06. And it will be yellow .... just like the show car, with black interior.
