Remember, someone reported seeing $57,600 Z06 on the Corvette website by mistake a while back?

Let me see if I have this right.

Hand built 427 w 505 hp

Carbon fiber front end.

Mag roof.

Aluminum frame.

Mag. engine cradle.

Bigger wheels, tires and brakes.

ETC. ETC. ETC.

Will compete with Vipers, TT 911'S and most super cars.

Priced less than a Vert.

I don't think so.

My 2 cents

If it is indeed in the 50's I just might trade in my slightley used Honda Acord with a mere 186,000 miles on the clock!

Probably a misprint. They meant to write Z51.

My '03 Z06 MSRP'ed for $53,645.00 (memory, electrochromatic mirrors, premium paint surcharge and NCM delivery).

For insight into how GM prices "special" cars, the '04 Z16/Commemorative Edition Z06 was an additional $3700.00 and included vinyl stripes, polished standard wheels and a carbon fiber hood.

The C6 is roughly the same price as the C5, so were looking at the same base starting price for a Coupe - if there were a Z06 along the lines of the C5 variant, it again would run low/mid 50's, and mid/upper 50's with some of the new C6 options.

So as Fredo (BTW, never betray the family...) indicated, the car has a *significant* increase in dedicated components over the existing Z06, but people are still thinking it will cost only 3-5K more? Roughly the same price as a Z16 Z06?

I completely agree with Mellow and MechEng - low/mid 60's on a "base" car (say 63-65) and mid 60's with a few options, pushing upper 60's with the premium package plus nav/XM.

Sounds good to me. Mid 60's and I'll have one.

I've been looking at pricing on 911's, and I can get one with nav and a few other things for $70,000. I'd guess the Z will be a touch under that.

For high 50s, I might sell my C3 and buy a Z06. mid 60s and I will have to keep working on the C3

Price just released - a supporting Chevy dealer is showing $65K for the base (1LZ) car. I guess hell just froze over, huh?

Add some TT&T, right at $70K out the door.
