123,450 Euros translated to the $150,835 price.
Holy Crap! No wonder GM can't sell any Corvettes there.

The German car magazine Auto Bild lists the Z06 at 79,950 Euros. This is around 96,650 USD. Hopefully the GM web site must be a typo. The '12345' looks like someone was going to put in the correct value before the web site was published.
The Z06 is on the front cover of Auto Bild, and their headline is "KEINE CHANCE FUR FERRARI". This transaltes to "No chance for Ferrari".

Swedish list price is 782 950 SEK (incl 25% sales tax) = roughly US $105,000. (German Sales tax is 16%?) http://www.corvette-europe.com/index...&FilterID=1004

I have previously done a rough estimate that you will save about US $20,000, by importing your own C6 Z51 to Sweden, and paying all taxes and fees yourself. (Despite the fact that the container freight will set you back US $3,500.)

I feel bad for our Corvette brothers across the pond..As if the price wasn't bad after converting the currency, you guys get hit w/ all sorts of "Value Added Tax" that will probably put the car outside the realm of possiblity for 99.9% of Europeans.
Europe is a beautiful place filled w/ culture and history....but you can bet your *** that i'll never leave the good 'ole US of A

I thank God that Sweden has an automotive industry!
Because all of our neighbours without one (Norway, Denmark and Finland), has insane luxury taxes on vehicles...

79,950 € is the official price over here in Germany. That's a real bargain for such a great car!

The only decent way to do it would be a European buying one here, using it, and it taking it home as a personal car. But he or she could do that, and combine a vacation into it.

I bet most of this price is because of the taxation system that is based on engine displacement volume.
Like small engine cars (<1 liter) are not taxed. Larger engine cars (<2 liters) are taxed at say EU1 per cubic cm and even larger cars are taxed at like EU2-3 per cubic cm.
So corvette would be taxed at like 6,000*2-3 = 12-18K in import taxes alone.

Actually the only way I know is by importing the car with US military - as a private vehicle. That makes it exempt from all the hoopla and then you can sell it locally.
Of course there will be no warranty of any kind.

avoiding "hoops" => will not work buying a car on holiday, car has to be in your possesion for 6 months + you have to be living in the US more then 1 year., only then it classifies as "household goods"
BTW this does not apply on military, embassy staff etc

I'm having a hard time believing the 120K plus Euros in the thread-starter

I don't have the time and energy to do an exact calculation on the Z06 but a rough estimate (although the mark up on the z06 appears to be less, but then again the dollar was cheaper 6 months ago):
Todays exchange rate according to www.forex.se is to buy US $1 you pay 7.80 SEK. When you buy large sums you get some discount. the exchange rate incl customs fee, sales tax and all other costs will be 10.72 SEK to buy US $1.
Offical price in Sweden is 782,950 SEK, incl all options except nav and polished wheels.
Import price Z06 2LZ $68,700 x 10.72 = 736,464 SEK
Do note that "self imported" cars have somewhat less resale value, and no warranty. Any recalls comes out of your own pocket...
