Default Who built your LS7 ?

Not many of the new Z06 owners have mentioned popping off the red cover on the right side to check the plate and see who built your engine. Mine was built by Bruce Elam and I'm impressed. I've seen others built by Chuck Witmer, Richard McBride, and Steven Rupp. Who built yours ?

Hey all! Don Henley here. I worked at Wixom PBC for about 6 years. Built many LS engines as well as doing engine balance and cold testing. And a few other things too.
Like most of the builders, I previously worked in a GM Engineering facility, and before that in a production plant. Oldsmobile in Lansing was where I started.
When it became apparent that PBC would be moving to the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, I transferred to GM Milford Proving Ground and finished my GM career there. That was a great gig too, working on and driving show cars.
I was fortunate for the great opportunities I had with GM. We had a great build team at Wixom, some very conscientious guys & gals. And it was fun to meet many of our customers that came in to do their engine builds, as well as those visiting our open houses. And having the opportunity to go to SEMA and Barrett Jackson was...AWESOME!

It pops right off, just pull lightly. The easy way to line it up when snapping it back on is to feel underneath the outer edge and guide the rubber grommets onto the 2 pins that stick up. Then pop the upper edge down.

Default plant

I have been to the plant in Wixom and know some of the guys. There is about 26 builders and each engine stays at each station for 33 minutes to get the work done..

It is a really cool thing to watch and see. every bolt is double checked for proper torque..
