Default LS7 Flow numbers

Hi Guys,

Here are what we got from a stock LS 7 head for flow numbers.

These heads are already C N C ported from GM. they are a very good head to start with as they come.

Lift Intake Exhaust

.300 246 cfm 174 cfm

.400 302 cfm 200 cfm

.500 343 cfm 211 cfm

.550 358 cfm 216 cfm

.600 360 cfm 220 cfm

.650 379 cfm 224 cfm

We expect to see over 600 Flywheel hp with just a LG Cam, LG Pro Long Tube Headers, filter system and a Tune. I would say about 625-640 flywheel hp very easily with NO head work.

That would be from 530rwhp to 545rwhp.

This car and engine will make "tuners" out of shade tree mechanics.

Thanks
Lou gigliotti LGM

I'm glad that the guys with the big computers spent some time figuring out how to make these things flow well with the right swirl for emissions.

not sure what "C & C" porting is........

however, if you are referring to CNC - that stands for computer numericly controlled.

After my car arrives and I get it broken in, I'd like to do a cam/header/intake/tune package (assuming I can find someone here in pineapple land to put it together). But I'm curious how far you can go before the GM warranty is voided. Is the cam a step too far?

Low lift flow numbers are very informative
Do you have the data @ .025 .050 0.1 & 0.2 inches of lift?
It looks like some real porting gains are to be made on the exhaust side....the intake is just fine as is I like to see 70-75% of exhaust to intake flow
If you do please post
THANKS

You are prbably not sure what "Tuning" is either.

Yes,
A cam is a step too far for a warranty. My opinion is that the first step is for the Headers and tune.

I am doing the cam just because I spent the $$ on this car and I want to bring the power up to a level that is just a little bit more thrilling. How often do we get to put a license plate on a car with over 600 hp that drives like this one.

thanks.

THANKS
The exhaust port is also ported by GM and there is only a limited amount of flow increase that will be achieved here.

Also keep in mind that this head came from the Le Mans effort where they run 2 very small ristrictors (32.5mm) per their rules. So they developed the intake port to make up for the intake restriction. They knew that they were not going to get the intake charge in, so they didn't need to get it out.

It is a 2.2" intake valve and a 1.6" exhaust. So the 2.2" intake and big port was a crutch for the restrictor plates.

I am sure that Tuna will correct my spelling if it needs any.

Thanks

no offense LG, but i just find it comical that you give a technical disertation on ls7 head flow numbers all while seeminly not knowing what CNC means. next time get your cylinder head vendor to proof read your technical posts for you and i wont have to. again, not being mean here or trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

Hey tuna, I don't see that LG did not understand the meaning of C&C. I only see that you corrected him to CNC. What's your point man? Are you enjoying your own pat on the back or just being a ?

Sorry,
I made a mistake and wrote C&C instead of CNC which is computer controlled machine work on the cylinder head ports which you probably already know.

thanks

Go Lou! I too am one of your fans. I love your headers. Sorry you weren't there when I had them installed so I didn't get to meet you. You were busy that day picking up your new Z06!
