[Z06] Death of a Z06

Great, what's next, people gonna sue GM for making a car too powerfull ??
LEARN HOW TO DRIVE PEOPLE, THIS IS NO TOY!!!
Kinda reminds me of stupid, common sense warnings they put on stuff, like an iron that reads "do not touch bottom..."
I feel sorry for many who have little or no experience driving cars like this. Thank God i'm working on my 3rd vette.
p.s. If this accident wasn't the Z driver's fault, ignore everything I said
Sorry for that terrible incident, hope u get a new Z soon...

No matter what we do or what happens, someone is better off and someone is worse off.
I am glad you both are "OK" and safe. As it has been said before, cars can be replaced.

These photos point out the excellent structural integrity of this car. Viewing them should be mandatory for all the fools that insist the MUST have a convertible Z. If this car had been a convertible (hate that "vert" thing) the driver would be DEAD.
Dave Hill is too politically correct to point out this fact of life to his potential clients, but GM (like all other car manufacturers) must build cars that are as idiot-proof as possible. This is so that when stupid drivers do stupid things the car will protect them and they will live another day to do still more stupid things.
Remember, the hardtop saved this driver. End of rant.

I pick up my LMB Z06 on Saturday. Gonna have to give the thing a whole lotta respect!!! Too many of these things are winding up like the early Vipers. Scares me just to think of what is going to happen when some guys track the car and push it beyond THEIR limits. Glad to hear a chipped tooth was all the human damage done. The car can be replaced but damn, it hurts just to look at that car........... Wish me luck!

By the way, Gonzalez, great comment on the convertible idea. He would be dead.
I already have a EB 2002 Z06 (that's the "blue" in my name) that I have taken lessons with and tracked at Watkins Glen. I agree with wholeheartedly with your luck comment. Not much room for it with any high performance car. By the way, the "red" in my name is for the red 98 convert that I have also. It's the one I would be dead in if it was involved in this accident. Your advice is very well given to all and accepted as such.

I could not agree more, this Z is my 6th corvette, (2nd Z). You really have to understand the car and the limits of your driving skills. It reminds me of my yamaha R-1 (04) my 8th supersports bike, it will make you sweat on your palms as you rail thur the mountains or where ever you, test the car's limits... Do not drive be on your skills, take your time and learn about what is under your ***....

I normally let anyone drive my cars, but my C6 Z06 is an exception. The car is sooooo fast that it can get away from someone within 2 or 3 seconds of nailing the gas.
I've got a lot of track time and this car requires my full attention. I love the power and handling, but this car is the perfect example of how to teach your brain to "roll" into the throttle inside of smashing the egg against the wall.
Be careful guys, we all need to be safe. Keep the car under the limit on the street and find a nice open track like MSR, TWS, ROBELING ROAD, etc,. to test the limits.
