Default Used Z06 Market Watch

Used Z06 Market Watch:

1ZL Package, 1K miles SOLD $70,000

MSRP $69,000, 2K miles, SOLD $72,000

1ZL Package, 1K miles SOLD $72,000

MSRP $71,000, 8K miles, SOLD $72,000

NAV, 2K miles, SOLD $76,000

It seems that in the used market you still can't get a Z06 for under MSRP even with 8K miles! However, the used market has less than a $5K bump over MSRP. It still sounds like a new Z06 at MSRP is still a fair deal given the strength of the used market.

Can anyone tell me what I should consider MSRP for a 1ZL package and what would be the estimate for the MSRP for one that just says NAV?

Thanks

There are dealers that will sell for MSRP - you just have to look. I won't deal with anyone selling over MSRP. Screw 'em!

Personally I preffer the least miles possible, but that' s just me. If it were a HUGE savings that would be different.

That is my plan too and then I'll probably pay a 'market adjustment' of +$5k.

That's a good thing for those of us who were fortunate to get one early in production and allocations were still available for the taking. Now it's a jungle ou there and the average wait is 6 months for a new car unless your ready to pony up and pay the market adjustment.
..and that's exactly what it is..a market adjustment. This car is worth 5-10K over and anyone who owns one knows this. It's just the ones who are on the outside looking in that have the struggle with paying 80K for an all american supercar!

Let's remeber this car is capable of 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds ...in first gear! ...and I can do it at will.

Just a incredible piece of engineering and design for the money.

IMO I'd never buy a used C6 much less a used Z06. We all know why people buy these cars....in this thread one owner talked about the first gear 0-60's at will anytime he wanted! Yah, Only two thousand miles on a car is only 8 thousand 1/4 miles runs and 16 thousand 1/8 miles runs. Anyone who thinks they will be getting a bargain on one of these by saving only a few thousand bucks is kidding themselves IMO.

Then again. It depends on your plans for the car. A Z06 only a few months old with 3 or 4 thousand still has well over two years and over 30k warranty miles. So beat the heck out of it and unload it on some sucker when it is just about to run out of factory warranty. Then he can spend tens of thousands rebuilding the entire car due to the gross abuse by the first owner.

IMO most of these cars are going to be burned up by their owners and objects of heart ache and great expense to their second and subsequent owners.

I would agree that Z06 owners definitely and typically do more hammering than I do.
I read somewhere a few years back that the typical C5 Z06 had like 275-475 1/4 miles, or equivalent under their belt. I would suspect that a used Z06 purchase would require more knowledge and skill and questions in looking the goods over.

Who ever gets my car is going to get a car that has been taken care of. My neighbor has a New Z that doesn't see the outside of his garage. He just rubs it with a baby diaper(Ferris Bueller)

You just have to look a little harder to find them.

Yack, yack, yack. Buy anything used and run the risk. My wife had a Maxima years ago that I treated like a step child. Don't make assumptions about how "everyone treats this car." Nice thing about cars like the Z06 are that these cars are designed for high performance. Better off with a Z06 that has been ran hard than a Grand Am that's been ran hard and not maintained.

I drive my card hard, but it is also meticulously maintained inside and out.
