If you purchase the remote control switch from an online company for $12 more you have the mild/wild setup for under $25. Awesome writeup.
You can get them online at a few different places, just like the $12 wireless remote switch used in the mild/wild.

The remote switch would just take the place of the manual rocker switch the amps are still regulated by the 10 amp fuse and have nothing to do with the switch any way. Just like the manual illuminated rocker switch from Radio Shack is rated up to 25 amps i am sure so is the remote switch > 10...
I don't get it pipe dreams... You would want the switch and all components to be able to handle more than the needed amp preasure and then have it regulated by the fuse as not to cause an electrical fire or am i missing something?
I don't think this was the most concise explenation... but i tried.

Another idea - -
Here is what I did -
Instead of using a rocker switch, I elected to spend a little more money and buy the OEM "Selective Ride" switch used in the Coupe C6. However, in order to have the valves open with the Sport setting rather than the other way around, a 5-point relay w/ normal open setting did the trick. Now I have an illuminated switch that looks absolutely stock. I also had a professionally made label indicating "Mild to Wild" right under it.
The switch was about $60 to $70 and the relay another $3.00

Being lazy has a price. In this case, its $80 and it comes with a remote.
Doing it yourself is great, but for those more proficient in other things, $99 is not a bad price.
Its all supply and demand. Charging major bucks for a rare clear stone is the stupidest thing I've EVER heard - but lets see how many of your bought one
It doesnt make sense to say "Haha that $99 kit is just $25 in parts". Yes, but someone took the initiative to bring you a solution that comes with professional customer service!
Time is expensive!
EXCELLENT writeup

The actual current draw of the solenoild is <1 amp, inrush current is <2 amps. So most any over the counter rocker switch rated @10amps or even half of that will work. Most of them are rated for at least 10 and many @ 20.

Very nice write up, and kudos to jlvink66 as he wrote this up a while back as well.
2 questions: Is this the setup needed for a regular 2008 Coupe? Or only for the Z06? ASecondly, is there a way to have the LED light up in reverse (LED off for "quiet", LED on for "loud") ? I'm sure there must be....
Oh and ZHopper, can you post some pics of your "look"?
Thanks!

Does anyone know if the procedure mentioned in this post can be used for a 2008 Coupe. Would this be the same process or different?
Also, is there a way to have the LED light up in reverse (LED off for "quiet", LED on for "loud")? Maybe by connecting an inverter to the LED?
Thanks!

Are there any issues with fuses blowing, shorts, not enough amps, etc? I read in the "npp exhaust switch" forum posting
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1831473&page=3
that this could be an issue... not quite sure I understand it.

As long as the Mini Add-a-Circuit is oriented EXACTLY as shown there will not be any issues (e.g.) protected seat heater fuse remains on bottom slot of Add-a-Circuit, added circuit is the top fuse slot and the red power wire exits to the right if using the heated seat fuse location.

I don't want to sound like an idiot here...but I assume that what makes this work is "breaking" a particular circuit to the baffels in the exhaust located in the fuse panel. Meaning that you have to put the "add a circuit" in the exact spot shown in the write up. As far as the switch goes..I see a lot of members on the forum putting it on the console. Has anyone put it anywhere else? I was thinking of maybe putting it in a hidden spot...anyone have any other good ideas? Thanks.
