Occasionally when I get in the car the horn will make 3 short beeps. Anyone know why this happens or what the car is trying to warn of?

Its trying to warn you that you left the keys in the car.

Sometimes its a false alarm though. It usually happens to me when I get out of the car to get gas (keys in my pocket) and then dont close the door. I fill up and get back in the car and close the door and it beeps at me. It thinks that I got out of the car and left the keys inside.

Its a pain sometimes but has also saved me once or twice.

Greg, u-tube is a web site that shows street racing. They start the race by three horn beeps.

It saves me almost everyday =P

but it was never a false beep, when I am out of the car there is NO way it would beep.

Mine does three beeps on occasions also. I believe it is when both (2) key fobs are inside the car.

Mine does it when I fill up with gas. I leave my door open and when finished, get in and close the door, it beeps the three times. I do not have both fobs in the vette.

Same thing here with gas. But yesterday, I got out to go into a local store and it beeped 3x with me and I had the FOB in my pocket. Only thing I could think of I did different was leave the car in neutral. I went back in and put it in first and then exited again and just the single beep acknowledging the security system was set and doors locked.

You are able to set up your preferences to warn you if the key fob in still in the car. I shut mine reminder off.
