Default Short throw shifter question

I am shopping for a short throw shifter for my car. 2007 Z06 - I would like to hear from others who have a STS in your car. How do you like it and what brand are you using? Also was it tough to install?

Hurst. Installed mainly b/c I got a good price. After looking at a few, I don't think there is much of a difference. The dealer installed it. Very happy with it.

Does it sit higher or lower than the stock shifter?

I am in the process of putting in a Callaway STS. I did a search on this forum and people seem to like it and you could use the stock sift ****.
I should have it ready by next week.

B&M is the most popular. Callaway gets the best reviews and the Hurst is the nosiest. Regardless none have any gate or stops. Those are in the tranny so it's more about the quality of the pivot point

My B&M works and feels great. I have driven a Z with a Hurst and it is very precise, but I rather the B&M....Mainly because it was in my car. lol

Which ones do allow use of the stock **** (ball)? Not trying to steal thread, but I posted similar question about a week ago. I thought all aftermarket shifters had stops? If not, which ones do?

I "had" the Hurst on my car. Rattled like a I was in a nest of well, rattle snakes. Put the stock one back in. I may try out the Callaway or the B&M.

Callaway is the best short shafter on the market, I just put one in my 06 Z06 and had one in my C6 Z51 for 14,000 miles and no problems

I installed a Hurst for C5 with the Delrin Shift ****. Love the way it feel (very precise) the C5 shifter angle is a little more forward then the stock one.

It is noisy only during hard acceleration.

I installed a B&M but I used the stock bushings. Shorter handle, shorter shifts and no rattles.

I can only speak of the hurst as it takes the stock shift ****; you guys want a sound clip of the rattle I think I can do that once the sun comes out here.

I will say this the hurst is Easy to install Only rattles a bit under Hard acceleration and the throw is Alot shorter than the stock one It does have stops in it And it feels notchy (if thats a word) compared to the stock one I have only had mine for about 100 miles but I love it so far

Has anyone experienced a shifter whine, even in neutral, with the short throw setups?

Just installed Callaway Shifter last week. Love how it shift and feels. I still have rattle and its little noiser than stock. Other wise good product. You can buy one that works with the stock shifter (little cheaper because it doesn't come with shifter) or you can get on that will work with other aftermarket shifter (comes with shifter call).
