What is this; a gran turismo video game thread? "If I build this car . . . can these cars (mostly of unknown power output and set-up) beat it?"
The easiest answer to your question is anything with over 600 rwhp will beat your set-up Achieving that number is not very difficult; I have.
You will NEVER have an "unbeatable" car, but if you wanna have one of the fastest rides on the street, you better start with a LOT more then just some simple bolt-ons.

A 601 rwhp GT500/Cobra would be toast.
A 601 rwhp SL/CL 65 AMG would be toast.
A 601 rwhp LP640 would be toast.
Want me to keep on going?..
I think you forgot about weight when you posted that statement.

Lets assume you are making 550 rwhp with those mods.
bolt on FGT with pully and tune - good race, with the edge going to the Z06
430/599 - no
Enzo - good race, with the edge going to the enzo
Nissan GTR - , enough said right there
PCGT - good race, with the edge going to the Z06
LP640 - no
Mclaren SLR - no
Modded M6 - no
Modded sl/cl 65 - no
modded Supra - definitely yes. They can get FAST
So, inconclusion, there are very little cars that will outrun a cam, bolt on Z06.

A z06 can hang with any of those, to keep it real, who ever has the most mods to a vechicle is most likely going to come out on top, when all these vehicles are so close when stock. I bet you my baby can whip all those! Im thinking a bugatti can be about the only one that can hang with me.

They were mid 13 second cars from the factory and all respond well to mods. It dosnt take as much as you think to get them into the 11's. But yes 80% on the road won't be a problem for even a stock Z06

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the GT-R as some have. Here's a video from a 11.67 run in Australia with a stock car. If this car responds to mods as well as the earlier cars it will be very competitive.
Not being a drag racer I was puzzled by their comments regarding the rev limiter. Can anyone explain?

Sorry, after reading it again the speed limiter set to 112 for Japan was the problem.

It was forum member Jamie Furman who ran 10.981 @128.90 MPH, in a showroom stock Z06 on stock Goodyear runflat tires.

There have been 3 different people, 3 different cars, on three seperate days, and at two different tracks, to make it into the 10s in factory stock C6 Z06s but on drag radials. Jamie Furman, Ranger, Dr. Ron.
Ranger was the first to do it running 10.856 @ 129.50.

Take a look...don't cry. The Viper is stock. The C Z is not.
Both Fantastic cars. Both depends on the driver. Real close

Umm no, how bout you try shifting at 7000. Both my brother and I know how to drive extremly well, So i would think either the dyno your buddy was on is tainted or he doesnt know how to drive well.
Just for reference I've never been beat by another stock Z, beat tune and intake cars, only lose to cam, headers, intake, tuning Z by a car and a 1/3.
EDIT: the difference between your buddies car and my brothers car probably is that my brother shifts his car at 8500, Also im pretty sure his power is pretty much flat over 6800 at 530+ whp.

RX7 tt........... 255 hp/ 217 ft lb............ 0-60: 5.3 1/4: 14.0
3000GT VR4.... 300/307..................................5.5 / 14.1
300ZX tt.........300 / 283................................5.6 /14.2
Supra tt..........320 / 315................................5.2 / 13.8
I know times vary from mag to mag, driver to driver, etc, and I don't mean to magazine race. These vehicles had large potential and were mod friendly. I don't knock them. I left American muscle in 1980 and turned to imports for the following 25 years. But most of what you see on the roads these days are over-inflated with ego rather than mods.

No one has mentioned 03/04 Cobras. I am telling you don't take them lightly. About 300 lbs lighter than a GT500 and many are making well over 600 rwhp courtesy of a Kenne Bell or Whipple. They have been around long enough that many are very modded. I know this because I have one of those 600+ RWHP Cobras.

Well i have a friend from jersey who has a 9sec Evo. Don't under estimate the AWD.....An evo with exhaust and intake can pull 12.5. They are fast considering their 2 stage launching. you better be fast with that z06 man....
