Have the same annoying issue as well. Sometimes mine stays on the entire time while I am driving until I shut down and re-start. Can go weeks without it happening and then out of nowhere it happens again.......I thought maybe a software glitch on '06 Z's but you are an '08.......hmmmmm?

Check the seatbelt pretensioner connection under the driver's seat.

Not sure if it applies to C6's but it could be a place to start. On my C4 when this happened it was a ground for the airbag's on the frame. You might check to see where the ground is for the airbag on the c6 and clean it up.

On the C4 the ground was on the frame positioned under where the condensation from the AC dripped. This corroded the ground and the service airbag light would flicker on and off intermittently. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find so if this pops up on my 09 z06 i know what to look for.

It is common for the seat wiring harness connector to the airbag to wiggle loose from moving the seat back and forth. We have sen it quite a few times and the airbag jumper harness is usualy the fix. I would start there.

Had the same problem. When I pulled the seat to install the power lumbar bladder & motor...the plug was loose.

just checked and the two connectors that come up out of the carpet and the one yellow one on the back of the seat were all connected just fine.
