Default ZR1 Private showing today - Many pics inside

The ZR1 made a trip to Massachusetts today with its Chief Designer Kirk Bennion. Kirk gave a full slideshow on the development of the ZR1 and fielded some questions. This was held at a local art museum in celebration of Industrial Designer Viktor Schreckengost (google it, an amazing man with amazing contributions to our lives). Kirk was a student of his.

The car on display was a Cyber gray and the color is simply stunning on this car. Darker than Medium Spiral Gray Metallic, and much nice in my opinion. Just perfect for the lines of the ZR1 and C6. Anyway, on to the pictures.

Enjoy

Very nice, to say the least.

Can't wait for some to comment on the "cross drilled" rotors. I remember the thread and post about it not being as good as slotted . . .

Paul -- Does the blue look standout as much, in person, as it does in, some of, the pics ?

No it really doesn't. The color is so complex. The flash (used deliberately) really brings out the metallic. It doesn't at all come out to the naked eye. At least in the lighting that I saw it in today.

Here is a close-up of the paint again with the flash. This is a shot of a body panel about so that the lens covers about a 12" square. You can see how few blue specs actually come out in this shot.

They had a different intake connected for transit and they ran in to a little problem getting the Jake intake reconnected before the show.

Correct. The ZR1 will use a special Michelin tire.

The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires developed specifically for the ZR1, measuring P285/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in the rear.
