Default JSB ZR1 New Pics from D.A.S. (LARGE!)

Hey all, While I think we've seen a bunch of ZR1 pics in Jetstream Blue before - I figured I'd post these anyway. These are from the Dallas Auto Show today.

Something new to look at while we wait for a full production street sighting.

The GM "booth babe" (ahem, kind lady presenter) was nice enough to get a closeup pic of the hood window for me.

Ya know, you barely even notice the thing if your not looking for it. I did notice the larger "hump" in the hood leading to the cowl in my front closeups.

Jetstream Blue impressed me more than I thought. Very nice color.

Lots of pics, so I will separate this into several posts. Mods, let me know if I "overdid it."

Here we go:

And More:

I can provide (PM) links to higher-res, if you'd like - but my camera is limited on megapixels, so the larger sizes wont yield much more quality. Let me know.

ENJOY!!!

Anyone think it has ANYTHING to do with the Asymmetric half-shafts (tongue in cheek), or is it an optical illusion? :-)

PS- I don't like quoting my own posts, but since everyone's asleep, I thought I'd get some conversation started for tomorrow.

Nice pictures.
I think most cars engines are off-center for one reason or another. One for the drive shaft which the Corvette doesn't have I know that much. My guess is good as yours.

Wow, nice!

Umm, was the "Please Keep Off" signage in reference to the car or the ...

I think because of the logo/brakes the best colors for the ZR1 will be blue/black and gray!

thanks guys for the on the pics.

i did look at another shot i took more closely, and it appeared more centered than i thought. i think the thick plastic cover has a distortion affect (optics) that makes it look off center at angles.

You are welcome, and so am I (on the street).

I have to admit, if I had the 100K to spend, like Mr. RBK and all the other fortunate souls that have this tough decision: I would DEFINITELY get an example of this fine vehicle, merely for testing it on a road course...just to see how well the FINE GM engineering that has been given us plays out in "real world" situations.

But, I've been known to make poor financial decisions in the past......

Either way, regarding colors, as our esteemed member Phantasms has quoted in another post -- that charcoal grey color is the ONLY way to go, IMO, should you have the means to personally enjoy one of these vehicles!!!!

Some think they are way over the top, but I really think that for factory wheels, they are VERY nice! It's just that they only look good with certain colors. I think they give the JSB a nice sizzle effect!

They simply look to me like C6 Z06 wheels done twice Leave it to GM to have no imagination for a new wheel design for their newest "supercar".

Don't get me wrong. I love my C6 and the Z06 but this car is just so over-the-top IMHO from the cheesy hood window to the meaningless engine cover to the boring wheels.

Liking the splitter and side skirts. Wonder how much they will be from GM... I think a lot with that retardedly expensive clearcoating? Wonder how much they weigh...

Not liking the spoiler. Wonder how much df it makes all the same?

Tires look the business...

Liking the CF roof section, looks sharp. Wonder if its actually any lighter...

Very muscular looking power bulge.

Bugger me those rotors are big...

You know something occurs to me... The ZR1 is heavier than the Z06, but we know nothing about where that weight has moved... If the top "half" of the car is actually lighter than the Z06, and the bulk of the additional weight is on the axle plane (i.e., suspension, bottom half of the motor)...

In other words, what if the center of gravity is a good bit lower?
