GM has obviously started posting videos, and we know the times hit the net before the vid is released in most cases.

A video will come for sure if this is the case.

And it's not unrealistic at all for 4 seconds to come off with Jan driving, in fact I would have expected more, which says a lot for Mero.

What's an independant source going to do? Are they watching telemetry, dynoing the car? checking the aligments to make sure they are stock specs, making sure the ecu isnt hacked? Just like edmunds being there for the GT-R run, the GT-R clearly had more power than anything they are selling stock, but no way edmunds could tell that.

If they dont have the means to tech the car then they are useless, and the videos we see are as close to the truth as we'll get.

That latest poster is in Uruguay. It's some kind of international conspiracy!

Here's another link that claims the ZR1 did 7:22.4 at the ring.
http://motorgears.blogspot.com/2008/...hevrolets.html

Still don't know if it is to be believed, probably need to wait for something from GM

Just as well as it isn't true. Just received confirmation from a well-placed source on the Corvette program. Ring season has ended and the Corvette team has not been back there since Mero's run.

Sorry folks.
