Took her out last night Mike. She's strong but smooth! Still breaking it in at this point, but I can tell it's a winner!
Just wondered Mike, if you keep count of how many LS9s and LS7s you have built?

Another Mike built the engine for my 09 ZR1, Mike Klamo. I heard he has moved on from Wixom.

If TNT is still around, tell him thanks again for the power in my 09 Z06!

cheers!

Thanks Mike, I did not know you were on here. What a cool last name for an engine builder, it instills the notion of power! 2010 Crystal Red, #125 - saw her being built and one of the first things I did was have them tell me the engine builder. Great job, man that thing has the power and torque!

How do you get the top removed to view the tag?

Grab underneath each side of the cover that wraps around the supercharger's intercooler and pull strait up. It kind of snaps on and it dosen't take a whole lot of force to remove it. Don't worry, there is really nothing to it.

cheers!

Thank you for your response ... As far as total number of engines (LS9,LS7,LS3) assembled by myself ... I don't have that number ... But would guesstimate it well into the hundreds ...
Mike Klamo (great guy) transfered to Pontiac HQ to pursue a career in "Experimental Metal Model Maker" ... He is an asset to GM and commands my utmost respect ...
"TNT"? ... Yup! ... He's still here! ... Presently on vacation in sunny Daytona Beach "droppin' the hammer" on his beloved HD "Screamin' Eagle"! ... I will relay the thanx ...

There are only 7 names on the list....how many guys and/or gals are there that have LS7 and LS9 name plates to their name??

While I understand that they are assembled as equals....who claims to build the biggest Horse??

On any given day there are five or so builders on the A2 line, which is where LS9's are built. However there are about fifteen different people that could, and do, build LS9's. Some are on the A3 line, building LS7's or LS3 dry-sump engines. Some are in offline jobs such as balance room, cold-test, team leader etc.

So there are more builders than has shown up on this thread. Some, such as Ron Hein, have built many engines but have not had any posted yet. I guess the law of averages doesn't always work. And for some reason this thread does not seem as popular with ZR1 owners as with Z06 owners. Hmmm.....

But many thanks to those of you that do post!! It's good for us and we hope it's good for you too!

Of course we all claim to build the fastest. Some say Mike Priest has a special chip in his engines, but we haven't been able to find it. John Ketchum seems to have bragging rights now as his engine was in the fastest ZR1 posted to date (see thread). The only way to know for sure is to get all of your ZR1's together and run them off. Sound like fun, maybe that's and idea for Speed channel...

I think that would be fine.Personally I want to know the names of the builders regardless if it's posted in this thread or not. My 2010 will be built either December or January and I'm looking forward to adding another name here.

Mods would you be so kind to sticky this post? These LS9 engine builders deserve to be recognized.

I have a black 2010 ZR1 (#00115). My LS9 was built by T.N. Taylor. Is he/she still at the Wixom Center?
