Default ACR VIPER and ZR1 quarter mile

If a Viper can run a high 10sec quarter so can a ZR1. Remember the Viper has stickier stock tires than the run flats on the ZR1. The power to weight ratio is superior on the ZR1. It's just going to take the right driver on the right day with the right ZR1...

But didn't Jamie run that high 10 second time in a stock 09 SRT 10 on run flats?

If a Z06 can do it then a ZR1 can do it

By that token the ACR with its Michelin Sport Cups should be faster then the SRT10 because it has much stickier tires then the SRT10's ps2's. Buuuut that isnt the case so far. The ACR is lighter then the SRT10by about the same margin as the ZR1 is to the ACR yet the heavier convertable with less sticky tires has run faster than the ACR. Many variables in play so you cant just use tires as a reason.

Besides the ZR1 tires are hardly "very" disadvantaged vs the Vipers PS2's. It aint the normal runflat of the past. Check out what they said about the tires here: http://jalopnik.com/5042652/secrets-...port-ps2-tires

Teh ZR1 dont need excuses just a great driver and the right conditions just like the Z06 and SRT10 did. 10's bonestock will happen.

This is a Great Quarter time for the Viper. I beleive if they ever build enough of the ZR1's and some get tracked then the ZR1 will be faster than the Viper. The ZR1 has a little more power and better Gearing.

I basically agree with you, as I think the ZR1 should be a little quicker because of the better gearing and should be the fastest of them all. I think the Viper has more torque and the HP is closer than advertised with both cars but the gearing hurts the Viper. If pricing was more realistic for the ZR1 I would of bought one, but as a long, long time Vette owner who remembers the first ZR1's well as I owned 9 of them I will have to wait it out. What does the new ZR1 weigh? My Z06 weighs 3090 and my Viper Conv weighs 3405, I weighed it yesterday at the track.

08 and 09 Vipers do not come with run flat tires. They are PS2's.

I believe it weighs about 3300lbs with fluids and 1/4 tank of fuel. I think someone on here weighed theirs a while back.

Im not 100% positive, but i looked at the viper vid real quick and i thought he didnt have to shift into 4th to finish the quarter, and i know the Zr1 does, so maybe that has some reasoning behind the slightly faster 1/4 times?....shifting takes time and theres no way around it.......but i could be wrong maybe jamie will enlighten us....

I shift! If you hit the HD button on the video you can even hear a chirp when I shift into 4th.
