Default Update from Texas Mile

John Heinricy test drove our ZR700 Corvette ZR1 and ran a best speed of 190.6 mph in the standing mile today. It ran consistently strong all day long. It might have a few mph left in it in the morning as it will be cooler. We will see.

I also met a very nice gentleman with a black ZR1 in black - beautiful car. His car is bone stock and ran an impressive 181 mph today.

We will make 1 maybe 2 runs in the morning then that is it for us as I have some family stuff to do this weekend. More info. soon.

That won't be easy!

51mph differance in a mile is a whole lot to overcome.

Nice run! Congrats.

I don't see the crown leaving that stable for a long time. Perfect combination of CD, gearing, and grenade proof engine, even the TT Vipers haven't touched near that number!!

Yeah from what I read it seems the TT Vipers are breaking 5th gear. They got the power but the tranny seems to be the weak link. I think maybe its the tq. Supra probably puts about 1200lbs tq high in the rpm whereas TT Vipers probably put that down not far off idle and top out near 1700lb ft. Dont know if there is a 6 speed tranny that will handle that kind of power/torque for a mile.

The Supra is king of the mile. 246mph I believe. Absolutely astonishing for any car much less a 16 year old well engineered platform. Only 7 mph off the 2 million dollar Veyrons ultimate top speed. Amazing indeed.

Congrats to the ZR1 @181mph in the mile too. Thats should beat the competition in class stock to stock.

Just as soon as someone can find more than 246 mph! By then, SW will probably be over 250 mph, insane................
