It is pin 48 on the VCM, that is a white wire, circuit 121. That wire goes through the bulk head connector and into the plug in at the instrument gauge. It is still a white wire when it plugs into the gauge pod. If I am reading the schematic correctly it is connector 2 pin 5 in the gauge, just make sure it is a white wire.

What are you going to do with it?

If you're gonna run it to something under the hood, the info about coil packs or PCM are good.

If you want it for inside the car (shift light, data-logger) then you can tap into the white wire jabbot is talking about.

I wanted a signal for my Traqmate data acquisition unit and also for my progressive shift light. I spliced into the white wire going into the back of the instrument cluster. Here's a thread by Pipedreams that shows how to get into that area:

Scroll down to about the 11th picture and you'll see the connectors that attach to the tach and the speedo. He's holding the wire bundle for the speedo, but you can see the white wire for the tach signal in the wire bundle going into the connector on the left - it's right in the middle of the other wires.

Take a look at this thread:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...006-vette.html

There are a couple posts with pictures of the connectors and pin#'s and wire colors.

It looks like the green wires are TPS, or MAP sensors.

Like jabbott said, the white wire going to pin# 48 on the PCM will give you a tach signal if you need one under the hood.

I took apart the guage cluster and tapped into the one going to the back of the RPM/Speedo/dash for my Traqmate, wasn't hard at all.
