Thanks for replies. I got my dealer to repair mine under CarMax service agreement. It was a bummer to find a $200 deductible I had to pay, while my 2004Z was always $50 deductible with what I thought was this same contract.

The car shifts much smoother, and the rattle is gone.

I never had a shifter vibration but recently bent the aftermarket driveshaft in my car. I started getting a shifter rattle so I installed the C6 shifter box, which helped but I still felt like there was a problem. Replaced the driveshaft and it's dead smooth, zero vibration or rattle.

I don't think any real vibration comes from the trans itself as it's the same trans in many other RWD cars and they emit zero vibration through the shifter.
Reviving old thread here but when you say driveshaft is that the same as the torque tube? I am having some rattling. Does anyone recognize this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1UTpkV5KKEt1Ww586
