Default Nick Williams 102 TB... Dyno Results!!!

Well after a good gain with the FAST I decide to put the 102 NW TB... and let me tell you this thing is BIG hehehe and the gains are there.

5 WHP & 3 WTQ in Peak and 9 WHP & 8 WTQ over the powerband... IMHO its worth the money

Photo of the stock vs the NW...

BTW the TB response is amazing!!!

We likewise saw an increase from 627 HP to 631 HP with a similar 102mm TB on our original E85 build dynoed at Katech. It is worth the investment only in conjunction with the LSXR intake and Halltech Killer Bee or LPE type of large MAF setup. We are now at near 660 HP, with an increase in compression ratio and Halltech tuning.
Our 102mm MAF housing and the LSXR intake/Williams TB match size, therefore eliminating all restriction to flow. This TB will likely cost you some torque on an otherwise stock setup.

Was this with or without a (re) tune? Remind me if you tuned your car after the recent round of mods?

Mods in my car:

Torquer Cam
Kooks HD
Killer Bee
FAST
NW TB
Custom Tune

Yes the TB need tune, the car will idle around 1000 rpms and will not calibrate the acceleration properly, so you have to tune it to work properly

BTW the feeling of the car is much better now, more linear power and the TB response is very very good... I know for sure that on the streets the car will gain more than 9 whp & 8 wtq

Completely different tune. The 102 TB will not work without changes that took me a week to dial in on the road. Idles like stock now, and lights up the rears at 65 mph in 2nd half throttle. Feels like a SC Z06 now. In fact, it would take around 6 lbs boost to equate to what we have now at the flywheel.

Even with the 13:1 compression ratio, our water temps are consistently at 190-194F and oil temps at 170 to 180F. The E85 cools the piston crowns and the squirters cool the bottom of the pistons. It takes about 30 minutes to get enough heat into the pistons to really get them heated up enough for performance. This motor ran 187F after 3 very hard laps by Johnnie O'Connell.

Quicksilver, where did you settle on the Area Scaler number?

I agree with Jim on the tuning aspect regarding the 102mm TB. It took me like 3 days on & off messing around with it to get it to work right and smooth like stock

Thanks,
Carlos

Jim, what you are describing doesnt seems more than 5 rwhp and torque. Can you post your dyno graph of before and after the few days or tuning please?

I can hardly tell the difference with just the throttle body. It is 4 to 5 HP. The torque is about the same, with a small amount of HP at the top end, but worth the price.

Airflow 102= FAST LSXR 102mm, Halltech Killer Bee 102mm, and the WP 102mm TB.

My description is no exaggeration, and I have owned 700HP+ Twin Turbo Corvettes that could not catch my Z06. I must do a video, but I would not be able to show it on the forum. Maybe Youtube.

The results are just so incredible that I feel compelled to talk about it. Just one of those character flaws I guess.

The biggest bang for your buck is the Katech Cam, then the LSXR intake manifold, then compression ratio, the Halltech Killer Bee induction, tuning, headers, E85, and the TB102, in that order.
