Completed this morning and everything is great! I ended up removing the whole VCIM. Also, I did not have a J3 plug. I disconnected J1 & 2 and jumped the 2 on the black plug J4 and there was no Onstar. I wanted the Bluetooth functionality but after testing nothing Onstar worked so I scrapped the whole thing. I never use Bluetooth anyway. Thanks a lot for this thread.

Sorry to reply to old thread but didn’t want to start a new one. I tried to use paper clips and also some wire to jump the j4 pins in the vcim but I still couldn’t get the car to start with it unplugged from the box. Have to move it away to install a sub box. Am I missing something? Is it best to just cut the wires and join them that way?

I’m trying to bypass the entire vcim box. It’s the tan wires on the j4 plug.
